UN peacekeepers are basically the only combat-like situational training you get with different forces. I don't see how this would be in the interest of China. That said, portraying Xinjang as some sort of paradise is probably delusional, the truth is probably somewhere inbetween Chinese and UN claims.

Its actually a crappy report that's very much politicized. The OHCHR also pretty much violated it's own mandate. Plus it cited shitty sources like Zenz, Ruser from ASPI and heck, Medium lol. While ignoring original Chinese language sources and thousands thousands of local Uyghurs themselves posting on social media.

My friend shared some really good articles that critiqued the badly flawed report.

Now I can see the flaws being laid bare. I never had the time to go through Bachelet's report.
