At this point this thread is transitioning from a place where members talk of how the CPC can fix its soft power deficiencies, (although yes there is still room for improvement) to now a space for racking up Chinese soft power wins.

When books are written about this era in the future Trump's name will be alongside the likes of Benedict Arnold and Nero Claudius I would think.

From what I'm seeing on Facebook, I've come to surmise that the J-10C shootdown of the Rafale(s) has led to China's reputational rise in a significant portion of the Muslim world. Long used to seeing Israel and the US/West bully and pick apart Muslim countries, Pakistan's aerial victory over India shows that Muslims can fight back against Western technology.

This thread was made in August 2022. We are not even three years in and stuff has already changed so fast. Soft power really is fickle as hell. Or maybe it never truly mattered and its just Chinese hard power finally fitting into the shoe.

Take for example Xinjiang which is one of the earliest post. Apparently all these vloggers including a few trollish ones went to xinjiang talking to Uyghurs like there's nothing special and everyone is going, thats what USAID has been wasting billions of dollars harping about?! In fact just a bunch of vloggers or streamers going to China probably wiped out billions worth of anti-propaganda.

Information travels at record speed. You can't use the same boomer cold war tricks like before.
