Chinese Soft Power and Media Discussion and Updates

I don't wish to see this normalized as an industry in China due to its negative effects on the character of a society, but you can't suppress it totally as people will find an outlet some way or another.

Chinese entertainment companies operating in foreign countries where it is legal would be an option I have no real qualms about - a regulated industry that keeps performers safe, allows them a means to make a living, and provides a pathway for people of a certain character go abroad (and stay there).

Exploitative materials can be left to the US, Euro countries and Japan
I had similar ideas, but from my understanding a lot of the popular paid/freemium "domestic" adult entertainment content that were created (alluded to in my previous Chinese soft power posts) use to be made outside the Chinese mainland. This is no longer the case, most of the popular paid/freemium "domestic" content is now made inside the Chinese mainland.

Clearly Chinese crackdowns and regulations aren't working in the Chinese mainland, this is a problem imo. For example, we don't want users and creators in China to use platforms like OnlyFans and illicit payment networks/crypto currencies. This has security implications and also has financial concerns.

But even for free/freemium adult entertainment, should we support domestic or foreign? My question isn't all about money, but about the topic holistically. With content that is fictional/ai generated I don't really care, let the free market decide what is best. I have slight qualms involving video/photographic content involving real people.

Domestic AI or robots.

I'm not sure if this is a case of the crackdown has failed or if its subtly allowed (as a remedy to the 'industry' going fully underground where it is harder to monitor).

I think it is a matter of 'amount' - if it becomes prolific, a real crackdown will ensure, whereas it being a semi niche side of the VPN internet is seen as an acceptable minor vice (where no real effort is spent hiding it, as opposed to services offering illegal types of material).

Given that increased prosperity will also lead to an increase in "sex for fun", there is a balance to be made.

This. Domestic adult entertainment should only be an AI / robot / toys industry. No human sex workers, which will help mitigate against the degeneracy.
I didn't want to join this debate because the original question of what kind of free porn should we allow ourselves to watch is a bit too stupid for me to want to respond to but I didn't expect it to grow tentacles and become dangerous.

But no to your notion. Normalizing sex with robots or other non-human entities is a perfect way to drop the fertility rate. Men will increasingly believe that buying sex robots/dolls is the only pleasure they need, and with that, they can can forgo the challenges and potential emotional risks of dating altogether. Go to work, make money, buy the sex bot models you want; that puts you 100% in control, right? Why take the risk of rejection by a real human female? People become more and more withdrawn from society and either become apartment hermits or form small friend groups of loser males. This reduction in the willing male population along with the horrible reputation that they will have made for themselves with these activities means that females will emmigrate for foreign men. This is a sexual dystopia, not a utopia.

Having a regulated and fully consenting people-based sex industry is a sign of a healthy society with the confidence to explore and enjoy sexuality; that is not degeneracy.

Furthermore, of all the addictions out there, the male addiction to impressing females is the most impressive driving force to self-improvement I know of. If anything, we need to harness and enhance this drive rather than to quell it with robots/AI/non-human substitutes. Men who are addicted to impressing and attracting women will stay away from all things that detract from this goal (drugs, smoking, excessive alcohol, excessive gaming, laziness, other bad habits) and force themselves into constant self-improvement (regular gym sessions, martial arts, healthy diet, learning to cook impressively, to sing impressively, to become highly educated, to earn a high income, accumulate wealth, etc...). Compare this image of a man obsessed with attracting women to the type of man who is obsessed with a collection of sex dolls at home. Which type of male do you want your society filled with?

Well this stance doesn't jive well with CPC's stance on sex work and oppression of woman. Maybe @tygyg1111 's theory is correct in that the current more noticeable phenomenon of "virtual sex workers" is just the CPC turning a blind eye to these sort of things.

I think my original question does have merit, can you imagine China being dominant in all areas of soft power except certain areas of sex? Should people in Chinese mainland only accept foreign adult entertainment due to regulations and ease of access?

The CCP is very conservative when it comes to these matters. Supposedly, this is also why surrogacy is illegal in China. So sex work may remain in red light districts, technically illegal but known to all the locals and police who take red envelopes. But one thing is for sure, and that is that normalizing/mainstreaming sexual activities with non-human companions is just asking for social collapse from lack of male vigor.

Did I misunderstand? I thought you meant what type of free porn Chinese people should watch in the sense of seeing too many foreigners can cause undue influence from idolization (thinking that a certain people are highly endowed because you are led to think that porn stars represent their general population), or that Chinese people should be protected from seeing extremely disgusting and irregular things that Western/Japanese porn may engage in. But instead, you mean that China should drop its regulations on domestic porn so Chinese sexuality can blossom? I would agree in that case.

Not to mention women can also be really deranged with parasocial activities. Just look at some of the loser communities spawned by female oriented gacha. When that happens, their ability to attract and maintain relationships also drop.

But humanoid robots will be a trillion market, and China is pretty much the only one in the game. Even though the technology has dangerous potentials, is there really any choice except to release it?

Maybe that's why the current government talks so much about values. It's setting up for a near future where if people have strong values, they won't fold to degenerate use of technology.

Women are followers of men. They always have been, always will be. It is biological. When women adopt toxic feminism, it is because men have not swept them off thier feet and they are lashing out because they feel abandoned by their leaders. Some of them are just naturally ugly and nobody wants to lead them and nobody cares what they're into or what they think of men, but when they spread their ideology to attractive women, or women who have the potential to be attractive, it is the fault of men that we have not romanced them onto our side. I wrote about this previously:

The choice is to not release it. This is starting a fire in your own backyard that might end up burning the world. A trillion dollars is nothing compared to a generation of people who may not be born, whose fathers are turned into hikikomori because of it.
Maybe that's why the current government talks so much about values. It's setting up for a near future where if people have strong values, they won't fold to degenerate use of technology.
Give your own people a pep talk to avoid temptation, then set temptation on them? Doesn't seem like a good strategy.
