Wow, now Huawei Pura 70/pro and ultra available for pre order in Poland
Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

Good surprise it's going global, supply chain must be pretty good now.

It seems you can buy it in Italy too.

Please, Log in or Register to view URLs content!

You can pre-order now and they will deliver starting from 15 of May.

Price is 1499 Euro vs 6 399,00 zł (1476 Euro) in Poland, but I guess VAT is not included in Poland price.

Interestingly they have disabled the 5G(!) and reverse wireless charge at 20 watt and satellite connection too. Moreover software is EMUI instead of HarmonyOS.

The article says SoC is Kirin 9010....but I don't find this confirmation on the official Huawei page:

...maybe they go with the Snapdragon for the international version....that would explain the 4G instead of 5G

Pure Technology: Revenue increased slightly year-on-year in 2023 and new orders increased significantly

1. The company released its 2023 annual report. In 2023, it achieved revenue of 3.151 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.33%; realized net profit attributable to owners of the parent company of 377 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 33.58%; realized non-attributable net profit 102 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 64.25%.

2. Judging from the Q4 single quarter performance, revenue was 952 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 15.27%, and a month-on-month increase of 32.47%; net profit attributable to the owners of the parent company was 181 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 51.29%, and a month-on-month increase of 107.49%; The net profit after deducting non-attributed profits to the parent company was -49 million yuan.

3. The company released the first quarter report of 2024. In 2024Q1, it achieved revenue of 811 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.48%, and a month-on-month decrease of 14.80%; the net profit attributable to the owners of the parent company was 64 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.45%, and a month-on-month decrease of 64.91%. %; the net profit after deducting non-attributed profits to the parent company was RMB 63 million, a year-on-year increase of 8.64%.

Semiconductor cleaning equipment is fully covered, and high-end products continue to make breakthroughs:

Zhiwei Technology, a subsidiary of the company, is one of the major suppliers of wet equipment in China and can cover multiple segments in wafer manufacturing including logic circuits, high-density storage, compound semiconductor specialty processes, etc. market demand in the field. At present, the development of wet equipment at the 28nm node has been completed, and all process machines have orders. At more advanced process nodes, Zhiwei has also obtained some process orders. In addition, the company's high-end products including SPM high-temperature sulfuric acid, glue removal, crystal back cleaning and other cleaning equipment have made breakthroughs and have been delivered to many domestic mainstream wafer fabs.

I think there are a couple of options here. One is like you said. The hardware including the modem isn't the same. They could be using the Snapdragon in the international version. Another option is that the frequencies used for 5G in Italy aren't the same as the ones used in China and Huawei don't have access to RF chips to get it working in those Italian frequencies. Another option is it could be that 5G is working but they don't announce it as such. In China they didn't announce the Mate 60 to have 5G but it still worked. Finally it could be a software or license issue.

The satellite connection won't work in Italy because there is no satellite coverage there. The satellite coverage is only over the Asia-Pacific region. Even then you could only operate in those countries assuming you had permission of the local governments to do it.

but the another big question is,

if Huawei really sell its high end mobiles to foreign markets. it means SMIC have much more 7nm capacity .. this is interesting scenario
