I think SN2 in Shanghai is put on hold due to US sanction.

@foofy A nuisance question, it seems that China had indigenized the whole process for 28nm is that correct? If yes downsizing to 14nm and 7nm will be easier as you said it need time to improve the optics and also the relevant equipment?

well, if it was easy Intel would have done it years ago .. Intel has been stuck with 14nm since Skylake which was in 2015 (very much is the CPU I am using since 2015 Sky Lake i7)

yes for 28nm. 14nm still need time to verify and improve.

anyway my guts tell me 14nm will be a lot easier since SMIC have the knowledge in foreign equipment.
