Equipped with domestic SiC, this car breaks the Guinness record

On June 6, Sany Group's electric heavy-duty truck "Mota 1165" launched its maiden voyage on the road. It set off from Changsha to Shenzhen, and recorded the whole process live. The goal is to "conquer 800 kilometers with one charge " .
On June 7, Mota 1165 drove into the Shenzhen Park and successfully set a Guinness World Record for a semi-trailer electric truck - 817.5 kilometers on a single charge. Guinness officially issued a certificate to Sany Group on the spot.

It is reported that the energy consumption of the Mota 1165 is less than 135kWh/100km, and the operating cost is less than 1 yuan/km. Compared with fuel vehicles, it can pay back the cost in 3 years and earn nearly one million yuan more in 5 years . In terms of charging, the Magic Tower 1165 is equipped with 4 fast charging ports, and the charging time from 10% to 90% is about 1.5 hours.
Based on such achievements, a total of 6 logistics companies and Sany Heavy Truck ordered 138 Mota 1165 units that day.
According to Esprin, the electric control of Mota 1165 adopts the company's latest 800V high-voltage platform silicon carbide dual-motor controller , and uses a 1700V SiC MOSFET module, with a total power of 550kW.

Is Esprin a domestic company? I've never heard of them before. Would be good to see when China's SiC controller catch up to the world leaders

Shenzhen Yisi Pulin Technology Co., Ltd. was established in September 2011. It is located on the 23rd floor, Block B, Building 2, Smart Home, Baolong 4th Road, Longgang District, Shenzhen. The company focuses on the R&D and manufacturing of the motor drive system, the core component of new energy vehicles. It has complete product technology authorization, independent brand operation management, and a core R&D team. With the self-innovated IGBT module as the core, it realizes the autonomy and industrialization of electric vehicle motor controllers. It is the only national high-tech enterprise in China that masters the design and packaging of automotive-grade IGBT modules, the R&D and manufacturing of motor controllers, and the R&D and production of powertrain systems. . The company has a production plant of 5,000 square meters, including a purification production plant of more than 1,000 square meters, and has obtained IS09001 -2008, IATF16949 certification, reaching an annual production scale of 300,000 IGBT modules. Produce 100,000 sets of motor controllers, with a planned annual production capacity of 300,000 sets.

The domestic bridge chip has been mass-produced!

In the past 5 to 10 years, the local semiconductor industry has achieved rapid growth, among which the chip design industry has developed the fastest, and has achieved a large-scale domestic substitution in both analog chips and digital chips. Today, import substitution has entered the deep water area, especially the deep substitution of high-end chips requires enterprises to take on the "hard bones" and challenge the "deep water area" or even "no man's land". Interconnection technology is one of them One of the problems that needs to be overcome, and the traditional interconnection chip technology is still monopolized by foreign giants.
In October 2022, after a year and a half of overcoming difficulties, Jingxin Microelectronics Technology (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. launched a new domestic alternative product to the market after releasing the 240G network DPU chip SDI2820 - PRB0400 PCIe to SRIO (Serial RapidIO) bridge chip. In May of this year, at the "On-Crystal Alliance SDI Forum-RapidIO Independent Ecology and SDI Application Innovation Conference", Director Wang Pan of Wellcore Microelectronics Chip R&D Department officially announced on behalf of the company that the completion of the chip functionality, system compatibility, etc. After multi-batch and multi-type tests including aging stability, PRB0400 began to enter the mass production application stage.

Wondering whether the ban of latest ARM designed only to Huawei or to all Chinese companies? I do hope to all Chinese companies

Currently no one is banned from ARM. Not even Huawei. When US added Huawei to their entity list, ARM suspended cooperation with Huawei only for a brief period of time to conduct an internal review of their products and assess their legal options. After the review they concluded that their products including the v9 are of UK-origin and hence not subjected to the US export controls. So v9 is currently available for all Chinese companies including Huawei.

If you where to make a list of equipments and raw materials that is needed to make let say 28nm semiconductors. How many items and where is China coming short at the moment.

ARM publicly said it. It was covered by many newspapers at the time. Here's one

ARM will continue to license its chip architectures to Huawei. The company’s legal team has reached the decision that ARM’s v8 and v9 architectures are “UK-origin technologies” and therefore not subject to the United States’ trade ban, which limits US companies from working with Huawei, per a report from Reuters

“ARM can provide support to HiSilicon for the ARM v8-A architecture, as well as the next generation of that architecture, following a comprehensive review of both architectures, which have been determined to be of UK origin,” commented an ARM spokeswoman to Reuters

Are these ssd from YMTC?
Yes. ZHITAI is a brand name for SSDs made by YMTC. Similar to how Crucial is a brand name for memory products from Micron.

With regards to ARM, AFAIK right now there is no embargo on sales of its architectural designs to Chinese companies, but I would not bet on it not happening in the future. Most high end ARM chips are designed at the ARM Austin center in the US. Their UK design center only designed the lower end chips. And there is a possibility the UK might sanction China in the future as well. ARM and Imagination Technologies already sanctioned Russian vendors like Baikal Electronics from licensing their designs so it is not like such a thing has no precedent.

Right now HiSilicon and Phytium have been basically blocked from fabbing chips at TSMC. That is the blockage rather than any sanctions imposed by ARM at the moment.
