MetaX unveils their newly mass produced N100 GPUs. It does 160TOPS (INT8) and 80 TFLOPS (FP16), so not exactly industry leading. For comparison, Kunlunxin-II does 256 TOPS and 128 TFLOPS (FP16). It's designed as AI inference GPU for cloud data center applications. It uses build int HBM2E memory. Video processing capability of 1-channel encoding and 96-channel decoding, compatible with various video formats and support 8K resolution

MetaX anticipates having MXN series for AI inference, MXC series for training/general computing & MXG series for graphics rendering (likely for desktop display/gaming purposes)

It anticipates launching complete GPU product by 2025.

From this article last year, looks like this first GPU is on 7nm process. MetaX claims to have self developed core IP from scratch w/ independently designed GPU architecture & instruction set.

MetaX was one of the 5 domestic vendors China Telecom picked for its public AI data center in Lingang. Since that meeting also had Sensetime & china Unicom, maybe it can get in their data centers also.

...as it was largely expected. This 50% will not be recovered in the future, actually the drop will continue.


"Shipments from Japan, currently China’s largest semiconductor equipment supplier, declined 12 per cent to US$3.5 billion"

...they will decline even more in the future!
