Who knows what has really transpired, they may be talking or come to an agreement about a DUV lithography machines assembly, manufacturing plant using fully Made in China components or even an R&D center with 100% ownership by ASML. Anything is possible. It is obvious ASML is not willing to give up China's market without a fight.
It's not going to be long before the imperialist deep state assassinates him and other key decision makers in the company. Hopefully his approach has universal consensus among their board of directors and largest shareholders.

Heyuan Gas (002971.SZ) stated on the investor interaction platform on March 29 that fluorine-based electronic special gas is the company's key product layout direction. Currently, there are nitrogen trifluoride, tungsten hexafluoride and other products under construction.

Silicon-based functional new materials
Electronic specialty gas and electronic chemicals

With the support of shareholders such as Hubei Provincial Communications Investment Group and Changjiang Securities, Heyuan Gas combines the national strategic emerging industry development plan and the resources, energy and location advantages of Yichang Chemical Park and Qianjiang Chemical Park to make use of the abundant fluorine, Silicon, chlorine, carbon, hydrogen, ammonia, sulfur and other basic resources, combined with the company's technical advantages in synthesis, separation and purification, provide electronic special gases and electronic chemicals (fluorine-based, silicon-based, chlorine-based, carbon-based, amino etc.), silicon-based functional new materials (amino, vinyl, epoxy, acyloxy, alkyl, phenyl, thio, etc.), and high-end industrial chain extensions such as precursors, isotopes, and aerogels. Yichang Chemical Industry Park invested 5 billion yuan to build the Yichang Electronic Special Gas and Functional Materials Industrial Park Project, and invested 1.5 billion yuan in Qianjiang Chemical Industry Park to build the Qianjiang Electronic Special Gas Industrial Park Project.
The two industrial park projects have the advantages of resourcing, scale, recycling, and greening, and have achieved the goals of efficient resource utilization, energy saving, consumption reduction, and carbon emission reduction, extending the industrial chain, reducing costs, and greatly improving product quality. competitiveness. At the same time, the two industrial parks are located in central China, adjacent to the golden waterway of the Yangtze River, with high-speed connections extending in all directions. They can reach along the Yangtze River Delta in the east, radiate the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone in the south, and reach the Western Chongqing Economic Zone in the west. Provide fast and high-quality services for industries such as integrated circuits, flat panel displays, photovoltaics, new energy, and high-end manufacturing in these regions.

Chip equipment exports to China tumble as U.S. pushes decoupling

In the October-December quarter, Japanese exports of such equipment to China slid 16% on the year by value, while the U.S. saw a 50% plunge and the Netherlands logged a 44% drop, according to trade and other data. This was even as exports to the rest of the world from Japan and the U.S. grew 26% and 10%.
For all of 2022, China's imports of semiconductor-manufacturing equipment fell 15% to $34.7 billion, Chinese media report -- the first decline in three years. The downtrend has continued into 2023, with total imports in January and February sinking 21% on the year, while semiconductor imports dropped around a quarter.

here is link behind paywall. I do think that Japanese suppliers are appreciating how much domestic procurement has accelerated since October.

SaiMicro has developed world leading technology in growing 6 and 8-inch GaN epitaxial wafers.

It also continues to develop GaN chips with partner help. GaN is widely needed for 5G, cloud computing, consumer electronics, NEVs & other fields.

Its Beijing Fab 3 continues to develop and come out with new MEMS products.

Is south korea's current restriction by the America overall good or bad for China? On one hand, decreased levels of investment and restricted sales to China from SK will hurt China in the short term, who can still benefit from SK's knowledge and equipment. And it will reduce SK's dependence on China and increase SK's dependence on America, making them even more of US lapdog than they were before.

On the other hand, it could make SK realise just how dependent they are on American technology and try to replace it, maybe even with some chinese techolongy. Long term, lacking access to the chinese market also means that SK won't be competitive in the long run. It also gives China an good excuse to retaliate in other ecomnic ways, and when China's equipment and semiconductor techologny catches up, completely run SK out of the market alltogethor with a very reasonable excuse of "How can you be a trusted trading partner if you're willing to knee to America and cut me off buying your equipment, how can I be sure that you won't do the same for other products?"

What does SK still make that China can't come up with a domestic substitute anyway? They do seem very much less important in the equipment/photoresist space than Japan. And their Fabs still can't complete with Taiwan.
