Chinese purchase of Su-35

The Indians, properly, have the Su-30MKI. It's canarded, the Su-35s aren't, have somewhat less engine power but may be slightly more maneuverable due to the TVC + Canards combo. That said, the Flanker series' canard is a bolt-on without adjustment to maximize its AOA enhancement, so it's not as substantial an addition as on the Eurofighter or J-10.

Su35 is an overall better performer than mki. It is equal or more manoeuvrable than mki. Just because a fighter has canard over one that doesn't isn't indicative of much. Especially when su35 has material improvements to the frame, better FCS, and a bit more thrust with less weight.

Yep, the Russians eliminated the canards on the Su-35 as it did not significantly enhance pitch rate, and due to the substantial structure needed to endure the air loads, it made the Su-35 lighter and allowed for more useful load in fuel or armament. It also freed up space forward, so the canards were minimally beneficial to maneuverability, but extra weight you had to carry every day...

and the additional thrust, along with OVT makes the Su-35 very maneuverable and pitch transitions are very rapid in any regard... and allows the Su-35 a higher sustained turning rate.

The point isn't that the Su-35 isn't a better fighter over-all than the Su-30MKI, it's that the MKI might have superior capabilities in some fields making the Su-35 not a perfect analogue. This is something that PLAAF BlueFor teams have to keep in mind.

Actually, the Su-35 can be considered better overall than the MKI as a fighter. That doesn't mean the Su-35 is better than the MKI in every single way. MKI advantages are than it has Brahmos integration as well as the integration of non-russian weapons and components including the Astra BVR missile. The other advantage of the MKI, is that it being a twin-seater will be better suited for strike roles. But overall as a fighter (not a striker) it is better.

Excuse me, I meant that Su-30MKI was a better fighter over-all over the Su-35. I don't deny that, I just mean that there are small areas where the Su-30MKI can outperform the Su-35 and thus the Su-35 isn't a perfect imitator.

Keeping emission control is one part, but there is also a huge utility because Su-35 represent the peak of the Indian Air Force and China is getting unrestricted access to these planes. It allows first rate training for PLAAF pilots.

I don’t think any more would be bought. There are enough to simulate a full squadron already.

India don't have any SU-35 .... the best they have is SU-30MKI which is significantly inferior compare to SU-35

Whoops! My bad! I completely missed the double negative (isn't, isn't) in the previous post.

But MKI can be as closely represented in opfor exercises by Su-35. Nothing else in PLAAF is as similar to what MKI is as the Su-35. Considering many components of MKI was further improved and developed into the ones for Su-35.

It seems that the Su-35 is considered possibly the most maneuverable fighter in the PLAAF at the moment, notable considering its TVC and that no active PLA fighter employs TVC.
