Chinese Military Exports (Land Systems)

It just seems hard for me to believe it's a quality issue. China today is the top producer of high quality steel. Its metallurgic industry produces far more complex product than gun barrel today, used in a wide range of industry from construction to military, and aerospace.

As far as I'm aware, the VT4 gun barrel is the same as used in the ZTZ-99 series, yet the PLA doesn't seem to suffer from such issues that we know of. Nor does Pakistan seem to have suffered such issue either, which operate both Al Khalid and VT4, both model using the same 125mm gun.

I would also assume national acquisition for such products would go through very rigorous and grueling tests, including firing munition at maximum rate of fire, basically imitating combat conditions.

People are quick to jump to quality issues whenever Chinese equipment are concerned because it plays exactly as the propaganda wants. If you look for instance at the Wikipedia page for the VT4, it'll cite incidents where it was destroyed or failed with dubious sources such as "Global Defence Corps", a literal disinformation website run by an anti-China/Russia/Bangladesh indian dude in Australia, or "Militarnyi", a website run by Ukrainian military enthusiasts with blatant bias. So no, I'd rather not play to the stereotypes.
It is not the quality problem that make the rumor run rampart. Buat on how norinco handle the after sales service. Like the chinese weapon that indonesian bought. It killed a soldier in the training. TNI ask Norinco for repair and new spare part. but Norinco stay quiet, bad customer service. Thus TNI is alergic to chinese weapons. And the personnels who know about accident spread this information to public. Of course without this thai cambodia war, that rumor stay as rumor. But today people will become quickly to believe than to not. Thats why china government needs to do something. Either send norinco to see the problem in thailand and fix their customer service problem or to replace the norinco bosses and investigate norinco very seriously. Specially when the vt4 barrel is the same as ztz 99a. Who know ztz99a has the same problem

Please man NOT all Norinco fault to but sometimes kickback to the official you remember AK-2000 from Norinco for the Indonesian Police when they mix AK-101 and NORINCO variant many complain there ? if that the case so WHY the Army KEEP buy from Norinco, means something sweet there, not only the Army keep buy from Norinco 81mm mortar , PF 89, Beijing Jeep MANPADS QW-3, S-2000 ( Type 59 copy of S-60 combine with later Maribnes follow to buy MLRS 122mm similar like Cambodia had that now use in border war with Thailand and Type 90 35mm AAG, BUT something strange is there are NEVER any complain from Marines about their Chinese equipments

Despite the cucks’ best efforts at denigrating the tank Thai crew still love it and rely on the VT-4 as a spear head for assault against entrenched positions.
They used it more heavily than any other tank in the cavalry battalion not the M48, not the M60, not the T-84. It did everything. operated on the front line, seized ground, went where the M113 and Type 85 couldn’t reach. Rugged and resilient. It took hits from mortar fire (one round hit the gun barrel directly), hit by IEDs, ERA actually worked as intended. It took damage, was pulled off the frontline temporarily for repairs, then went right back in. Most accurate gun. AC blows cold. Drinks fuel like a bastard, sure but that’s the price.

This tank has been resented and subjected to constant nitpicking for years.

This one was hit by a 120 mm mortar round.
