Chinese Marines: How many can they land in a day?

There should be a rule against people digging up old threads. They are considered an offense on Chinese language forums and should be considered an offense here as well.

The Taiwan Invasion Scenario would have to include all branches of the PLA. I remember back in the late 90s I read anarticle in Time magazine the PLA would need at least 60,000 troops in the initial phase of the invasion. I forgot most of the details it was over 10 yrs ago plus the PLA capabilities have improved since then.

Those anyone know anything about the PLAN Marine air assault forces or do they just call up the 15th Air Corp?

For the PLA to effectively launch this invasion they would have to take a couple of plays from the Normandy Invasion. Like Igor said the PLA must first establish air and sea supremacy and pummel most of their defense before any invasion.

After all that softening up I would try to drop 2 airborne divisions a couple of hours before the landing forces hit the beach. That's where the decoy landing flotillas would be used to confuse the defending forces on where the actually landings would take place.

Once the PLA take airfields to allow the airlifting of men and material they can also use commerial airliners like the US in the first Gulf War along with the ships. This would probably help speed up the build up for the main phase of the conquest.

Technically fascinating, politically quite off the mark. The time for war over Taiwan has come and gone.

Yup! Of course. China military changed alot. With J-20 5th gen plane can even produced by China. He dare not bad mouth China again. It will only make him more like a fool.

Actually all this dig out old thread is also not a bad idea. Make those doubter eat back their words.

Now nobody dare to say thousands swim for China military in Taiwan scenario.

I think China will need a combination of more LPDs and certainly LHDs to cover the landings, this supported by aircraft carrier umbrella

without aircover it would be sucicide to land troops in enemy territory, Japanese couldnt do it in WWII never gona happen in this day and age cus to get that element of suprise is almost impossible with technology these days

They need nothing of the kind. A Taiwan operation would be very much like the invasion of Normandy in 1944 and was carried out by a large number of fairly small vessels. Naval gunfire support was important, as it would be today, and the all-important air support was provided by a huge fleet of land-based aircraft.
