chinese laser weapon development

They might weaponize laser for thin, slow moving object like UAV but against supersonic thick and heavy smart weapon it will be decades if ever before they solved the problem
lol, that'sthe primary usage for laser weapons - using those against assymetric dangers where it's much more effective than bullets or missiles. It has proven to be effective at least for such purposes.

But if people like you are talking about Star Wars like 'pew-pew' and that's their image of lasers then what are you talking about... Such discussion is pointless... 'Call me when you could destroy planets with this toy' arguments. That's indeed a talk of the future. But it will happen probably.

That is what Hitler said there will be wunder waffen soon. We all know what happened to Hitler
Instead of dreaming about wunder waffen to overwhelm fictitious foe, better not to start war in the first place and stop hectoring and talk of continment
It never work

There is nothing new here It has been the same problem for years and sofar they haven't solved it.
The say progress has been made call me when they solved the problem
Laser will always be the weapon of future a pie in the sky!. They might weaponize laser for thin, slow moving object like UAV but against supersonic thick and heavy smart weapon it will be decades if ever before they solved the problem
and in the meantime, here's what Western fanbois needed to know February 29, 2016:
Army Plans To Have Laser Weapon By 2023
Much cheaper than missiles, once it's built

People said the same thing about hypersonics. It's a weapon of the future and always will be. But hypersonics are now finally upon us, and not only that, policy wonks are falling all over themselves to try and limit the spread of hypersonics to only the US, China, and Russia. Times change, technology improves, and to dismiss lasers with "call me when they work" unnecessarily invalidates the work of generations of smarter people who came before and will come after, in order to make militarized lasers a reality. Which it will be. Your timeline is not their timeline.

if you want, you may handle Sep 22, 2017
two questions:
  1. what's going to happen to the LAWS after 2018: "Ponce is planned to be decommissioned in 2018." (quoting

    )?
  2. since the LAWS is portrayed as such a gigantic success, why there's just a single installation of it?
(as for the first question: the LAWS hasn't been simply put on the Puller: Sep 28, 2017
isn't it saying?)

The LaWS is done after the Ponce decommissions. I don't know where you got that LaWS is a "gigantic success", but it is successful in what it was designed for, which is essentially just as a technology demonstrator. LaWS generates several dozen kW of power but to be effective as a weapon you really need 5-10 times more power than what LaWS can generate.

It is like comparing apple and orange. It is NOT the same thing. They have been working on laser for 30 years now with nothing to show other than incinerating small boat 150 m big deal!

To be fair gunpowder based weapons took around 200 years to evolve from bamboo based fire-lances to bronze/iron handgonnes, and 150~200 more to more effective matchlock muskets. They couldn't beat the bow and arrow, which was 15~20,000 years old at that point, in rate of fire until the mid-19th century. 30 years is just a blip in comparison.

Not sure what your particular problem with lasers is, but nobody else seems to have your problem.

And it will take another 300 years for laser weapon to work!
