the thing has longer history then mengshi series （back to 1990s）designed for working with Y-8（An-12）

army leaders impressed by Humvees （movies ..documentarys i guess）
but the PLAAF did not forget about this thing in the end（thet want something that floats and drives）
whatever its heavier then mengshi 3

I think VN3 looks similar enough that its basically a derivative of soviet BRDM line of scout vehicles, so one can assume that they should weight similarly at around 7 Tons.

This question may need an operator of the vehicles to answer, here is the questions
On the tracks of the ZBD4A and ZBD05, why don't the end connectors have wedge bolts (circled in red)?
