Yea, basically filling rockets with solid propellant is quite hard, a hassle, slow, dangerous and costs quite a lot.

But well, China was able to make some machine so that it can fill DF-17 size missiles with solid propellant like how sausages are made, cutting costs by A LOT and making it safer and faster.

Chinese MSM revealed one more hypersonic research project, the "whistling arrow" multiple speed domain flight vehicle (“鸣镝”宽域飞行器).

The project team, with the honorary title that is named after the venerable Chinese scientist Qian Xueshen (钱学森), has successfully completed 7 flight tests in 5 areas, including "near-space drop release of high speed flight vehicle" (临近空间投放高速飞行器实验) and "international multi-speed domain round-trip flight" (国际宽域飞行器返场实验).

[We have seen this photo before. In this test in 2018, a balloon released models of multi-speed domain flight vehicle in different aerodynamic configurations. This might be the "near space drop release" test mentioned above.]

The team has made breakthroughs in key ares of multi-speed domain flight. A first in the country, they created the "near-space drop release" test model. Their visionary work in multi-speed domain flight and reusable technologies enabled to solve the all-speed domain adaptability problem of near-space hypersonic flight (临近空间高超声速飞行全速域适应性难题).

(观察者网讯)《中国青年报》7月11日在报道中关注了中国科学院力学研究所“钱学森科技攻关青年突击队”。文章提及,以李文皓为首的青年突击队团队自2018年以来攻坚克难,他们的“鸣镝”宽域飞行器研制任务通过高效迭代,圆满完成了5类7次飞行实验,成功实现国内临近空间投放高速飞行器实验、国际宽域飞行器返场实验等。
此外,在研制过程中,该团队突破多项宽域飞行关键技术,在国内首创“临空投放”模式,前瞻性地探索了宽域化飞行和可重复使用技术,为攻克临近空间高超声速飞行全速域适应性难题,提供了可行方案和关键支撑。

"宽(速)域飞行器", or multi-speed domain flight vehicles [does anyone have a better translation of it?], are different from any of the existing flight vehicles in that such a vehicle will need to fly in multiple speed domains, including subsonic, transonic, supersonic and hypersonic speeds, and maintain stable and full control of the flight during the course. Tengyun (腾云) will be a typical multi-speed domain flight vehicle.

宽速域飞行器有别于目前操常见的任何飞行器。这种飞行器需要兼顾亚音速、跨音速、超音速和高超音速等多个速域,而且具备稳定的可控飞行能力,具备宽飞行包线、宽飞行空域、宽飞行高度等特点。举例而言,常规起降的空天飞机和高超音速飞机就是一种典型的宽速域飞行器,航天科工“五朵云”工程中的“腾云”项目,就是一种典型的高超音速宽速域飞行器。

This is a team of mostly younger scientists. The leader, Li Wenhao (李文皓) a graduate from Northwestern Polytechnical University, himself was born in the 80s. Among the 32 team members, 65% are only 35 years old or younger.

这是一支以力学所老科学家命名的突击队,代表了新一代的科研人员在重大科技任务攻关中弘扬老科学家精神。目前,团队成员共计32名,中级职称以上占88%,35周岁以下占65%,汇集了经验丰富的70后、敢打敢拼的80后和勇往直前的90后,是一支“老中青三代有机结合”的队伍。

An extremely bright future for China in developing any deadly weapons to protect its territory. They are young, talented, innovative and they love their country. As an example: the teams that develop China's heavy lift rockets, the Tiangong Space Station, bullet trains and infrastructure, ship building and so on...

It is rare for Chinese researchers to openly simulate a direct strike on the US via the Arctic route with hypersonic technology.

In order to solve the uninterrupted space⁃based communication problem in the world,the communication efficiency of the existing space⁃based communication support system in China is analyzed.BeiDou Navigation Satellites has the advantage of global coverage, which can provide all⁃weather and all⁃day TT&C(Tracking Telemetering and Command), navigation and communication sevices. Based on the application background of BDS ISL(Inter⁃Satellite Link system),STK(System Toolkit) simulation models are established for three typical application scenarios, the global coverage in three scenarios are analyzed. The simulation results show that the satellite forwarding mode can meet the global uninterrupted communication guarantee,and the communication efficiency can meet the communication requirements of short message and voice. A reasonable and feasible star cutting scheme is given for the communication link interruption problem that may occur when the attitude adjustment of highly maneuvering near space vehicles is too large. The task timeliness of BDS ISL system are theoretically calculated and analyzed.
