It appears that the upcoming Zhuhai Airshow will display a lot of interesting stuffs (biggest suspense is if any sign of H-20 will appear).
If the H-20 would take off from the inland and just do a flyover, that would be very nice.

AVIC Engine department's report confirms that they have built prototypes for fifth and sixth generation aircraft engines.
So WS-15 is fourth gen engine and thereby being in line with Aircraft classification?

Very surprising report as it wasn't long ago that an AVIC scientist/spokesperson admitted that China's research into advanced materials like CMC was late compared to US.

Late isn’t always the same thing as behind. China’s been moving aggressively fast on materials for the last 20 years.

I would agree with you ordinarily. But since they've been mentioning it and dropping hints all over the place, and with all the recent "strategic air force" noises, I can't help but wonder what comes after "next."

But yeah, it'll still be a long shot.

They won’t risk flying it over a public Airshow unless it is almost ready for service.
