Chinese Engine Development

Latest - CJ-2000 has entered the low-voltage component telemetry system hardware configuration bidding stage. In other words, CJ-2000AX has entered the verification machine bench test stage. This is the most critical step for aero engines!

It has been reported that CJ-2000 has been making faster progress compared to CJ-1000A when the latter was at similar development stage. Considering that CJ-2000 is believed to be an enlarged CJ-1000A (at least partly based on CJ-1000A), this is likely credible.

true. The progress of CJ-2000 is faster than that of CJ-1000. there are basically no major problems with the various technologies of 2000, and only the improvement of the process to increase the lifespan. In other words, 2000 is almost completed. It depends on how long the final productization period takes. It can be as short as three or four years, as long as five or six years, plus two years for obtaining evidence. Normally, at most eight years should be formalized. Commercial service in the sky.

I wonder how so? Mind someone explain about this?

Isn't the CJ-2000 being derived from the CJ-1000 which serves as the base model? As in, CJ-2000 is being the larger and more powerful variant of the CJ-1000?

Or is it that the CJ-2000 is a totally clean-sheet design than the CJ-1000?

Nah, CJ-2000 uses a much bigger core, so definitely not “based on” CJ-1000A,CFM-56 is based on F-110 and they use the same core.
What makes development faster is experience, infrastructure (some of them weren’t there when CJ-1000 started)and budget

well, very little information is available about CJ-2000. as far as i know, CJ-2000 has much bigger core so nope. engine is not derived from CJ-1000A. its a completely new process.

AECC learned a lot from CJ-1000A , domestic supply chain and China has now complete ecosystem of aero engine.

Here are some features of engine

CJ-2000 total take off thrust is 78,000 lbs. front fan diameter is exceed 3 meters. bypass ratio is 11
full sized composite fan blades
full composite casing
integrated manufacturing of large size drum shafts and powder trays
Fourth generation powder alloy high pressure turbine secondary disc tailgate
