Credit Suisse this week published end-2021 data. It puts net Chinese household wealth at $85.1 trillion. The American figure is $145.8 trillion. In 2011, the figures were $30.9 trillion and $65.8 trillion, respectively. The US household wealth lead over China has expanded by $25 trillion over the past decade.

That tends to happen when you don't account for inflation and one side is hyperinflating while the other isn't.

Anyone in here interested in knowing by how much Weimar Germany expanded its household wealth lead over the UK and France during years 1930-1936? I promise, its really relevant and useful data.

Somehow you managed to find a measure of economic size even more useless than nominal GDP, congratulations.

I think the total trade between China and RCEP (30% of China's total foreign trade) now doubles that between China and the U.S. (15%).

One day, someone, maybe some respected public intellectual, perhaps like Gordon Chang or Donald Trump, will declare that the US-China trade war is over.

What we constantly hear from the Americans, regarding China and its trade, seems to be totally off the mark. Not sure what the point is, what the Americans are trying to make.

America is a distant number 2 trading partner for China. The way the trend is going, where China grows and ASEAN grows, which means trade between them will grow even faster, America as a trading partner for China will only diminish in importance.

Furthermore, it is basic math. If a corporation can make more sales with ASEAN and it is growing faster, more time and resources will be placed into that market, and not the number 2 market that is fading.

At this point, really tough to say what the trade war was all about. Was it an attempt to alienate China away from America? That has certainly worked.

But what is the plan? What is the next move? After pushing China away, what will America do? Will America go ahead and conquer the ASEAN market?

If none of this makes any sense, well, it does not.

Future historians will rightly condemn this stupidity. America threw it all away the China market like a third generation loser.

A more balanced reporting from WSJ YouTube reporting on the industrial robots that are installed in China at a higher clip than all of the world combined. There's still the usual idiotic question from the American host but such is the nature of their job.
