You can't compare a huge country like China to a small one like Italy. China has about the same average wealth as Europe. I'd guess that the average person in Shanghai and Guangdong is almost certainly wealthier than the average German and maybe even wealthier than the Italians.
But if i look at the Netherland number($146k?) we don't really use that we have our own metric named for public information called "Jan Modaal" a fictitious citizen that represents the modal income which in 2022 is set at $38~40k.

But that doesn't even paint a good picture because in a tier 3 level city you can life as a king but in a tier 1 city we called that the Randstad, a cluster of big cities it's just enough to live a good life.

China climbing up the high value supply chain. with each passing year, China exporting more and more high end industrial products. so this is just the beginning.

Money ain't what it used to be worth though.
