Hi Hendrik_2000,

Implicit in the worldview is that China has made no law abridging the freedom of manufacturing and trade, nor has it ever tried to burn bridges or to close the door of well-being upon its established trading partners.

That is why RCEP is about to be realized and TTP is not.
How does RCEP benefit China though, in comparison to the current situation?

China Bans Australian Coal Imports as Political Relations Sour
Bloomberg News
October 12, 2020, 5:38 PM GMT+8
Australia’s agricultural exports are already subject to curbs
Nation dominates coking coal sales to China’s steel industry

For a fresh perspective on the stories that matter for Australian business and politics, sign up for our new weekly newsletter.

China has suspended purchases of Australian coal, according to people familiar with the order, as Beijing continues to tightly control imports of the fuel amid soured political relations with Canberra.

Chinese power stations and steel mills have been verbally told to immediately stop using Australian coal, the people said, asking not to be identified as the matter is private. Ports have also been told not to offload Australian coal, one of the people said. China’s customs administration wasn’t immediately available to comment.

The ban marks an escalation in tensions that have already jolted agricultural exports from China’s biggest supplier of commodities. It isn’t clear when the halt might end or how it might affect long-term contracts that are already in place.

The fossil fuel has been a previous target for China’s ire with what it regards as an increasingly hostile government in Canberra, most recently in 2019 when shipments became subject to port delays. It’s one of the few resources in which China is largely self-sufficient, as it mines and burns about half the world’s supply, and its utilities use lower-quality thermal coal for just a small fraction of their needs.

Higher-quality coking coal is a different story. China produces less of it and the country’s steel-making giants are still reliant on overseas suppliers, where Australia is dominant, typically accounting for over half of imports.

China is, overwhelmingly, the key buyer of Australia’s most lucrative export, iron ore, although curbs on that product would be a heavy blow to a steel industry that relies on vast -- and cheap -- supplies from mining heavyweights like Rio Tinto Group and BHP Group.

More broadly, China keeps a tight grip on coal imports as it seeks to balance the needs of its miners and industrial users. The fuel still accounts for over half of its energy needs, but is falling out of favor, albeit gradually, as China shifts to cleaner burning energy to cut pollution and meet increasingly ambitious climate goals.

“We are aware of these reports and have had discussions with Australia’s resources industry, who have previously faced occasional disruptions to trade flows with China,” Trade Minister Simon Birmingham said in a statement. “Australia will continue to highlight our standing as a reliable supplier of high grade resources that provide mutual benefits.”

BHP Group, Australia’s biggest exporter of coking coal, didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. China Baowu Steel Group, the nation’s biggest mill, declined to comment. The news of the coal ban was first reported by outlets including S&P Global Platts and Argus Media.

Bravado.

As we've seen already, Chinese brands could simply be banned from the Western bloc and Chinese brands also use foreign suppliers that could be cut off.

Huawei is already destroyed as a world brand. Any other "Chinese brand" could be next. Not a single one of them is safe.

The end game of all this is a China economically cut off from the world.

Not sure why people here are so delusional and overconfident that these constant fights are good for business when they clearly are not.
Except when the damage to their economies is too great, they will reject American demands just like they will fight a trade war with America. There's a reason that blocs aren't countries; blocs are temporary and fragment on disagreement. They're a veneer of unity but they're worthless.

You're not sure? Let me explain. Because unlike you, people actually look at numbers. Huawei has never stopped growing even with all the US sanctions. People don't say open-eyed blind things like you; we don't say something is destroyed when all its numbers are going up. Huawei is more notorious as a global brand than it ever was; it is a symbol of a product so excellent, the US bent itself out of shape trying to stop just a small portion of it.
I am fine with China to give it a fight, but I want it to actually fight smart. And that means not getting cut off from world supply chains and getting your products banned because you are bad at diplomacy. China is strong now BECAUSE it integrated with the world, NOT was cut off from the world. China was 900m people all united in one purpose under Mao Zedong too, but it wasn't successful. Why not? Because being united in one purpose alone isn't good enough, you have to be smart. And being integrated with the world is smart, being isolated is dumb. That is the lesson of hundreds of years of Chinese history. Not to close yourself off. Right now the world is dividing into Blocs. Who joins will Bloc will depend on diplomacy.
Nobody cares what you are fine with and you have fighting smart confusing with kissing boots. Mao Zedong led 900M people out of a war-torn country with no scientific background. Mao Zedong didn't have 900M Chinese people with the largest and most capable STEM force on earth with the largest GDP PPP in the world. He led 900M poor farmers who've never touched a machine before. They were not equipped to succeed like today's Chinese people are, individually.

Refer to above in regards to your useless blocs.
China is extremely bad at diplomacy, IMO, compared to the US, even under Trump, which is the US worst performance ever. But China could not take advantage of it because of China's "wolf warrior" diplomacy always insulting other countries. I see Chinese diplomats on Twitter all the time gloating over other countries' coronavirus troubles, berating other countries, threatening other countries with economic pain if it does something China doesn't like. How do you think this makes other countries feel? It is NEVER responded to positively. It never brings about any positive result. If you ask me, China has 1.4b people but a falling birth rate and soon falling population, and the world has 7b people. If China can't do diplomacy right, the US will get the rest of the 7b people either in its camp or neutral, but closer to the US camp. Then China will be isolated and can't win like this.
That's funny; the person who, according to his own admission, is hated by everyone on all the forums he attends, claims that other people have bad diplomacy LOLOL

Where do you see Chinese diplomats berating non-hostile nations on their COVID response? On the other hand, how often have you seen Trump do it? How about threaten countries with economic pain? LOL The worst of what China does to hostile nations, America does to "allied" nations. This diplomacy can unite the world against China? How stupid are you?
Simple.

Point 1. Your Bloc has a higher population and more favorable demographics than US Bloc.

Point 2. Your Bloc has a bigger economy than US Bloc.

Point 3. Your Bloc has more advanced technology than US Bloc.

Point 4. Your Bloc has a stronger military than US Bloc.

Right now the US Bloc is beating China/Chinese Bloc on all 4 Points, and it's not even close. If China really wants to challenge the US it needs to build up its Bloc and partners to beat the US and its allies on these 4 points.
So basically since China has smarter, more educated people, and more people, your only recourse is to start counting swaths of countries as the US? LOLOL And even funnier, added together, they don't touch China's talent pool. Only India tips the balance and Indians can't do squat with all their resources! Useless incoherent blocs that fragment from the wind are meaningless.
I don't think you understand that the US and China are going into a new Cold War. I don't like it, but Chinese nationalists here are the ones saying they want to "fight" with the US and contest with it, and that seeking better relations is "defeatism." Fine then. Don't listen to me. Fight with the US. But don't pretend that the US isn't going to take the gloves off in that case. They will go all out against China. I am already following conversations online between US historians who are planning to change how they teach Chinese history to students to emphasize the independence of places like "East Turkestan." Expect a massive increase in CIA support for separatists in Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia, TW, and anywhere else they can think of. The US is going to use every lever of its power to hurt China, and as the sole superpower, the US has a lot of levers.
OK, nobody will listen to you. It's been like that from day one; why repeat it? LOL

America can be as delusional as they want. They can teach their people that each Chinese province is a different country and make the American students ignorant. (If China teaches it's people that America isn't a real country because it belongs to dead native Americans, does that self-denial change anything?) Then they can cry that China violated human rights when they arrest American agents all the while American police kill black people sleeping in their homes. These are "levers"? They sound like death throe struggling to me LOL. Lying to yourself is one of the phases before accepting defeat.
It doesn't matter if China, like the Soviet Union "deliberately cut themselves off" from the free world "due to ideology." China will be forced to cut itself off from the world if the New Cold War really happens. The US can do more than you think. It will go to a country, and say: It's us or them. If you trade with them, then don't trade with us. We will sanction you. They won't publicly threaten this, like China's "wolf warrior" diplomats, but they will make it clear behind closed doors. They won't have to do with for ALL trade. They'll probably allow basic trade that doesn't threaten them. But any Chinese brand, any Chinese industry, or Chinese technology, that becomes really successful, has a very high profit margin, or threatens to surpass the US, will be blocked, and cut off.
It is the US that is cutting itself off as Chinese global trade increased while American global trade fell last year. You're imagining things against numbers again. Whenever the US makes these threats, foreign companies make technological get-arounds to get to the Chinese market anyway. And when they say "it's us or them" they shouldn't be surprised if one day, the answer is, "Well, China has the larger economy, larger market, and quite frankly you have no military advantage either. So that and all the other lucrative countries like Iran and Venezuela you made us forsake for your own ambitions... it's gonna be them. Bye Felicia." When that happens, America can choose to isolate itself totally or eat its own petty words.
So your example of Singapore won't matter. That was in the past. Pompeo is just the beginning. Eventually countries like Singapore won't be able to have it both ways. ...
All your examples and points don't matter as they're just self-admitted trolling. See above on meaningless blocs, choosing sides, and explosive growth of Chinese companies.
Don't be naive. This is the harsh reality. You don't have to contest with the US (that's my opinion-- and in my view the Chinese government doesn't want to, really). But if you want to contest with the US, it is contest, and you gotta be prepared for it.
You have no opinion; you troll all forums to disagree with what's said. The longer it drags out, the better for China because China is growing and America declining, but America has chosen to have this contest now. Always be glad that it wasn't yesterday instead of sulking that it could have been easier tomorrow. Game on.

I'm not going to respond to all of that, but I don't troll forums. I simply present the moderating opinion or the side of the question that I think contributes the most to the discussion. Right now the Western and Chinese perspectives are too far apart so I present the side that will help each one see the other side. The reality is both West and China have some right perspectives and there are a lot of gray areas. It's not black and white. My mission and goal is simply to help the two sides coexist more peacefully which will be better for everyone. That is my mission and I would happily be unpopular for the sake of the goal of peace, because I see fighting as very destructive to everyone ultimately.

You'll not respond because you have no rebuttals, only regurgitation of defeated points. Your failed mission at moderation and useless trolling with no real opinion or content benefits no one and is heeded by no one on any forum you attend. The entirety of your vain effort stems out of your own ignorance of the world. As I said before, you would fare much better to have both of your personalities argue with each other; at least then, you may benefit psychiatrists/psychologists.

No, it's because you always respond to my posts with utter nonsense and not a single original thought. As for me, I ask not for much. If I can even bring about a single particle of doubt to a single person that this suicidal war that the two countries are going into is a dumb and crazy idea-- I can go to my grave happily. I serve only the people of these two nations-- the US and China.

I love how the Chinese are not suppose to have confidence. That's what it basically comes down to because without confidence there would be no advancement. Why would anyone come into this forum to try to convince anyone here of anything when no one here has any power or say in China's direction? Because it's personal. Like I said it's a wife beater mentality. They beat their wives and girlfriends to force no confidence that they can't do anything without them. The abusers also try to convince that everything they do is about love. If they didn't love them they would bother to abuse them. Like I've said before, China is the second most powerful country in the world and has number one looking over their shoulder without being liked nor doing what they say is the best way.

Just because you cannot answer intelligently does not make it nonsense, no matter how convenient it would be for you if it were. Don't you say the same on other forums with your multiple personality disorder? Lots of people seem to agree with me and not with you. Pretty obvious where the nonsense is from, eh? And where did you imagine my thoughts were plagiarized from?

Hmmmm, you truly do have low standards for your life, and revolving completely and morbidly around other people's opinions. And you wish to project such a pitiful lapdog existence on such a grand and proud country as China?
I serve only the people of these two nations-- the US and China.
Your imagination that you can serve mortal enemies on both sides is the biggest nonsense here. People like you end up drawn and quartered in war, both sides considering you a traitor. But yet, you keep your foolish fantasy that you spend your life cheering for opposing teams in a sports contest pretending and wishing that they can set aside their differences to both with the match LOL
