The Hainan free trade zone trial is quite interesting. They are already allowing visa free travel there from 59 different countries, which is attracting a lot of Russians.

I wonder if Hainan will be set up as China's Medical tourism destination also.

It's kind of interesting to see what's going on there, because they are kind of just allowing it to freely develop
The idea of more coordinated efforts to build up medical tourism industry could really take off big time. That goes doubly so for areas where China has clear differentiators, like accupressure, accupuncture and other aspects of TCM.

A lot of it comes down to marketing too. If Chinese medicine as a lifestyle can be more actively promoted for its preventive qualities, which I feel westerners still do not understand, the potential for growth is huge!

If you are a business owner and there are money to be make in oversea markets, will you go regardless the amount of money you are making at home, even if you are not a genius?

Correlation does not equal to causation. Doesn’t take a genius to understand that.

If you have a profitable business running now,you would not be compelled to do investment that that are highly risky. Which is what Chinese business men are doing now. Being compelled to Invest in countries that are very risky to do business

You don't need to gamble unless that's your only choice

What's important here for the government is just to avoid situations where its companies' money could be "trapped" by foreign countries via policy abuse, here is where strong arm diplomacy comes in.

Not just companies, individual as well. There is alot of Chinese individuals go to Africa Latin America etc to start small business, which is often the target of violent crime, I don't they would risk their life to go there if they can make good money at home.

In the video I posted, the author mentioned that he met a Chinese business man do mining business in Africa,he got shot by some locals so he came back to China for treatment. As soon as his is healed uph, he went back to Africa again rather than try to make money in China

That's up to individual business owners. Is it better to have a highly competitive business environment that can produce world beating companies or have a bunch of fat cats sitting on their laurels and relies on their control of the market like in the US? Which scenario is beneficial to China in the long run?

Ever heard of 卖猪仔? Chinese have been going outside for ages, long before Anglo-Saxons did the same. Anglo-Saxon took over the world because they are much more brutal. Southeast Asia would have been under Chinese control if not for the West.

Apparently the Chinese gov think the current business environment is toxic,so they are pusing "anti-内卷" policy in every sector now,and I think they are doing the right thing.

The Chinese migration story is full of blood and tear,no one would flee from comfort unless they have no choice. And it is the responsibly of those in charge to make China a comfort place for it's citizens so no one have to 卖猪仔

I think China should put more emphasize on modern and forefront medicares. I personally believes China can a leader in future medicares and sticking with TCM won't get China there.

Instead China should focus more on cutting-edge bio-genetics/medicines/medicares, like:

The woman was treated with stem-cell-derived islet cells developed from her own fat cells, which were injected into her abdomen. This experimental treatment has allowed her to remain insulin-free for over a year since the procedure, researchers announced.

A Chinese research team has developed a new treatment with the potential to significantly improve survival rates for a virulent form of breast cancer. The tests found that treatments using the new drug — named Camrelizumab — were as much as 12.1% more effective than previous therapies at treating triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).

China have the knowledge, tech, capacity and capability to do all these and more. Imagine, in the future, people all over the world can go to Hainan to cure all these illnesses; Type 1 and 2 diabetics, all type of cancers, and all type of genetic disorders...etc. And just like being the factory of the world, now China can MedHub of the world. With unparalleled capacity, China can even offer personalized medicine/medicare for all.

生于忧患,死于安乐
Comfort will breed complacency, degeneracy and laziness which in turn lead to the downfall of civilizations.
