People are the same. They fear and respect the strong, they bully and crush the weak

Same applies to countries. With the US "relatively weakening", the world is now entering a period of instability as the alpha dog who was keeping order among the "weak" is now standing aside.

Now these "weak" countries will start attacking each other until a new hierarchy is established.

The more you see it the more you understand that international relations between countries is like a jungle.

You have apex predators establishing their territories where they have complete control, and inside you have smaller predators which establish their own hierarchy depending on how strong they are

In the end, we are just animals
@voyager1 bro congrats on your promotion, Kaptain sure sound nice, here's a toast bro you deserved it.

Bad news. Forget climate change, build more coal plants...

In a statement by China Southern Power Grid, 21 municipalities in Guangdong are limiting power use with businesses and factories forced to close multiple days a week, slowing production. Resumed industrial activity and increased air conditioning demand are the main causes of the electricity shortage.
Electricity usage in the grid operator’s province increased 24% through May 29 and rose to a record high on May 21. Affected cities in Guangdong province include Guangzhou, Foshan, Shantou, and Dongguan.

Nuclear is the way ahead.
Too slow to respond to build on rapid changes though. It needs a lot of planning, permits, red tape, plus there is a maximum production capacity on how many nuclear plants you can build every year (supply chain)

Coal plants on the other hand is relatively "easier". With a well built supply chain, just pick a location and start pouring concrete in a short time in order to respond to higher than expected demand

Solar electricity is even faster to deploy.
Plus in most places in the world, unsubsidised solar electricity is cheaper than coal, over a 20 year lifespan.

But we are talking about baseload here.

Unless solar energy comes together with storage systems then solar is in another energy category.

Businesses and factories need stable electrical supply

Solar panel electricity supply is correlated with bright sunny days.

Consumer electricity demand from power-hungry air conditioning is correlated with bright sunny days.

If you need electricity immediately, it's not a bad solution.

How about at night when everybody at home cooking and turn on AC and watching TV? Can solar supply during that time?

And also in the morning when there is no sun yet ... how about cloudy day, etc, etc

Easy stuff mate.

The people can stay at home without electricity so that climate change can finally be solved...

Coal Plants will remain the choice for now. As you have seen, this explosive growth on electricity demand cant be covered by the "unreliable" solar energy

People, Gov, Businesses, Factories need 100% reliable day-and-night electricity suppy

Hopefully the supply chain of nuclear plants can increase its production capacity in order to be able to build more nuclear plants per year
