If Panasonic with their technological and manufacturing prowess is unable to successfully outsource their manufacturing away from China, I do not think most anyone else can be successful.
The only one that managed to do it was Samsung, though even then they've apparently shifted back 20% of their production to China recently (because they cannot compete):

Because Samsung has help. The American government has kept Chinese phone makers out of its market and killed Huawei’s worldwide market.

Once semiconductor supply chains are fully sinocised in China, the Central Government should implement a Huawei Tax on all Anglo-Americna/Western tech companies to make up for the damage done to Huawei's marketshare worldwide.

Samsung moved production away from China to avoid artificial US tariff. Even then, this quick reversal shows that China remains supreme in manufacturing prowess. Just do not ship to the US.

The problem is places like Iowa are very flat, while much of southern China is extremely mountainous. As such, its more challenging to mechanize production for rice fields, especially for terraced rice fields. Ultimately, I think the central government will have to prepare for the possibility of transforming the Taklamakan Desert into a wide expanse of crop fields, just like what the Americans did to California, as well as aquaponic farming, to guarantee food security.

Yeapp some big dams in Tibet can supply enough water to convert Taklamakan to new California

@antiterror13 Sir it was based on an event happen in 1981 before his trip to the US in 1985, Sir the Chinese officials where sent not only to learn US farming method but also their policy , farm inputs and regulation. Most of those sent were familiar with their profession and Xi being a princeling in my opinion is there to evaluate what to do and not to do or follow.

According to a recent international report, Monsanto knew in 1981that its flagship product Roundup is carcinogenic. Chinese food safety activists think that Monsanto not only hid the information from the Chinese government and people, but also defrauded the Chinese government and people with fake reports in order to obtain a safety license. Covering up Roundup’s carcinogenicity and the risks posed to human health by Roundup-tolerant GM soybeans and corn, Monsanto misled China to massively import and produce its products. Now China is the largest producer and exporter of glyphosate in the world, including supplies exported to Monsanto for use in the manufacture of Roundup formulations worldwide.
