Chinese air to air missiles

Fins folded up like a square would save even more space?
It depends on the shape of the bay. If the dimensions mean that you can fit 6 in perfectly by making their cross-section rectangular, then this is it. If they were folded into squares to save that extra bit of room, it could be slimmer in an unneeded place the just a bit fatter in the worst place and then you would have only room for 5 and then an extra pane of empty room near the opening.

It would be really nice if they designed the J-31/35 weapon bay space accounting for the way new missile fold.

of this particular issue of Ordnance Industry Science Technology for one's interest.

Besides the mentioned AAM article, one may find other articles also quite informative.

While everyone is obsessing over how much longer my schlong is versus yours they missed out arguably the more important leak.

PL-15 could be guided to its target by a different aircraft than the launcher. This is achieved via sophisticated data link and opens up a huge variety of options to PLAAF and explains why J-20 collaborates so closely with 4.5th gen fighter aircraft like J-16. J-16 could serve as the missile truck from the safety of the rear while the J-20 with stealthy profile can provide targeting information from the front even after it has exhausted its ammo supply.

Hahaha I tricked Deino into liking a post that mentions schlong.

Isn't this just confirmation of earlier speculation rather than something totally new?
If not for PL-15, such a capability was speculated for the PL-17 for sure

So hard to find good pictures of 11Bs with PL-15 :(

That's one of the first images we had of PL-15 from the early 2010s, likely showing some of the initial flight tests of PL-15 had, part of a set released at that time.

Since then we had only one other good picture of a J-11B with a PL-15, without context.

All of which is to say -- it may very well be that PL-15 currently is not regular armament for fighter aircraft that are not J-20, J-16 or J-10C, thus the reason it is difficult to find "good pictures of J-11Bs with PL-15" may be because J-11Bs (and non-J-20/J-16/J-10C fighters in general) are not equipped or outfitted with them at present.

I thought J-11 was updated not long ago?

Yes. My point above still stands.

I.e. the reason we have not seen any J-11B (including J-11BG etc) with PL-15s is because they may not be outfitted with them.
Whether they (and I mean both J-11BG and J-11B) are capable of firing PL-15s or not is a whole other question.

But PL-15s may very much have priority for the fighters that can currently make the best use of them, i.e. J-20/J-16/J-10C.
