Junta sending envoy trying to convince US that it's antiChina, they took down Aung sung syu Yi because she was close to China.

Looks like China pipeline in Myanmar in trouble.

Junta knows how to play the antiChina card. That music to ears of US

Myanmar situation for China is similar to Ukraine situation for Russia. Right at the doorsteps.

I wrote extensively on the Myanmar situation in the Breaking News thread.

It is not entirely certain if Myanmar is trying to distract the West or if they truly mean it.

If Myanmar truly decides to shift its strategic outreach from China to US then that is big big trouble for China.

How would China react to that? Maybe ala Russia, activate the rebels and make some quick action to capture strategically.important areas and peace out? Or even activate a civil war situation by the rebels there and then start supporting them? All scenarios point to lose-lose outcomes

China has no choice but use it's military against the junta similar to Russia against Ukraine. Wipe out Myanmar airfirce

Split up those ethnic Chinese state to be protectorates like kokang or wachin. Give them heavy weapons

Please bear with me if i say something stupid.. I am not a military expert and what I am going to say is a bit of fantasy without broader strategic thinking; but is it possible for China to make a lightening quick military operation to capture a land corridor to the sea or make an ethnic state in such a way that China gains access to the sea?

This would be of strategic significance, I mean if you are going to take such a strategic defeat by using the military(aggression, diplomatic, reputation etc) then China should own it and go down all they way so that it could at least get something out of that mess.

The port from ocean to China is long way , it goes through alot of Myanmar territory.

I think China has to help make those independent states away from Myanmar and punish Myanmar militarily. Wipe out it's airforce.

Basically Myanmar has to make choice of lesser evils. Military confrontation with China or economic sanction from the west.

If Myanmar side with China it can weather the economic sanction from west and military threat from US.

But it cannot survive military clash with China.

From the map , kachin state fights for independence from Myanmar. China can help it become independent country by deploying no flight zone, providing air coverage from the entire state of kachin. Kachin would become a protectorate under China.

Myanmar has to pay a heavy price if it does side with US.

I beg to differ.
there is no evidence that the population is anti-China. At the very least, Ms. Aung SSY has shifted to China realising that only China can help Myanmar to develop economically.
so why punish the entire country and lose the good will of its population just because the junta is unfriendly assuming what we are hearing is true? I am sure the Chinese government knows the Myanmar situation much more than we average Joes.
China plays the long game, and is not impulsive enough to attack and invade foreign countries at the drop of a hat, unlike certain country in North America.

those are sensational news hyped up by western media to give the unwary the message that China is not welcomed in Myanmar.
notice how the photos never show you the entire ' crowd / mob ' because the number of people involved is actually small ?
just stay cool, calm, relaxed, and you will see through the tricks and not be swayed and dismayed.
so what if a few factories get burned up ? The sky is not falling as such!
CIA inspired colored revolutions always follow the same script. by impulsive action and over-reaction you play into the CIA hands......

Unbelievable. Whats your criteria for action? Or never.

You see, this is similar to Hong Kong riots. After that CCP came in with new set of laws and arrest those troublemakers. China came in to clean up.

Your calling for inaction seems like too stoic and pacificist., Not sure that's a good idea

Not protecting your interests oversea is irresponsible from a government standpoint
