China's strategic vulnerabilities

OP's post contains little of real substance in the grand view of things, and reflects mostly western thinking and biases on the matter.

Having returned for some years now, my thoughts about the real weaknesses of the nation are:

1. Corruption. Itself is only a small tax, but what it really hurts is confidence and loyalty of the people towards government. It provides a hole in national unity for foreign exploitation, and a source for defectors. It has gotten better, but there is still a ways to go. New management technologies and concepts are required. Digital currency is a good step.

2. Lack of rigor in many habits of many citizens. The ”差不多“ attitude is hurtful for a modern civilization that needs exactness and strict compliance to standards (which are there for a reason). This hurts all aspects of society, but especially public safety, science, technology, and high value manufacturing. When the peasantry adopts exacting standards (be them high or low, as long as they are strictly met) to their work and daily life, they wouldn't be peasants anymore, no matter where they lived.

3. Lack of nuclear parity. Nuclear weapons are used every day, in that their deterrent value keeps the peace and allows for strategic freedom of choice. Clear inferiority leads to constraint of choice and opportunity costs.

4. Weak external propaganda. There is a misunderstanding that what works well internally will work well externally. This is false because cultures are different. What works well externally can only be found through devotion of real resources and scientific approaches, not old-boy-inertia.

5. Maladaptive attitude towards educated women. Women with high educational level are wrongly considered not marriageable by many men. This is entirely counterproductive from an evolutionary point of view. Intelligent women are the key to intelligent children. Success in modern society (and also national power) relies primarily on intelligence, not appearances, athleticism, or even health. The best way to invest in your children's future is to give them a highly intelligent mother (from a man's point of view; conversely, for a woman, it is to give them a highly intelligent father). It is a wonder why men rather pick less educated, prettier women, and then complain when their kids are too stupid to finish their homework or when they fail in society. Those people really only have their genital-based-thinking to blame.

6. Worship of foreigners (in some people). A complex issue. It hurts national unity by providing a ripe field for foreign interference and leverage. While this is getting better, a whole generation or two are already set in their biases, and continue it somewhat through their children.

There's a saying: "keep your friends close, and your enemy even closer". That way, if the enemy tries to hurt you it also has to think about hurting itself.

What the US is trying to do is distance itself from China, not that China really mind. That way it can snipe the US from a safe distance instead of playing the knife fight that could end either way when they finally decided to go to war. Of course, the US also gets the same benefit, but China considers itself up to the task if that's the game the US wanted to play.

Is what CHINA STRATEGY IS, as AMERICA keep on provoking, instigating and throwing everything including the kitchen sink, CHINA remain calm, collected only retaliate in a massive and strategic way usually if it affect its SOVEREIGNTY.

The CPP LEADERSHIP know that DECOUPLING is a part of the US containment policy. That's why CHINA didnt retaliated when HUAWEI is being sanction, it didnt weaponize its rare earth and its holdings of US TREASURY NOTE. It need time to complete is COMPREHENSIVE NATIONAL POWER and retaliation is self inflecting.

Now is AMERICA is able and ready to endure such pain? Is her ALLIES a willing partner of such endeavor? these question need to be answered if such POLICY is being used.

As for CHINA , Its current generation had the experience of "EAT BITTERNESS" . It need to prepare the future generation for these challenges. This is where from my perspective is the CPP LEADERSHIP MAIN FOCUS, the BETTERMENT OF ENVIRONMENT for this next generation to able thrive and exploit its talent.
