The more impressive military stuff are the SAR based satellites and the capabilities of the newer remote sensing satellites. I don't think much of the rumours suggesting newer Chinese satellites have some submarine detecting LIDAR or laser technologies but the exciting synthetic aperture radars probably have immense military value. China has been busy launching SAR and other remote sensing satellites since the early 2000s.

I've honestly no doubt satellites are key to PLA's detection and tracking of USN surface and possibly even subsurface assets. They may even play some important role in directing AShBMs. To have some redundancies the tech that doesn't demand perfectly smooth and predictable distance measuring, may be relying on the various super high altitude drones in PLA. The US will definitely be targeting all Chinese satellites in case of kinetic war. I'm not sure if any are in unreachable geo orbits.

SpaceX gonna do 42000 satellites, and they've already signed contract with US Army.

This would solve the issue with satellites getting shot down right? China should do one with cameras on all of them as well.

it is mind boggling how all these huge number of satellites are designed to be put in place in such a way as to avoid collision with one another, especially those in near earth orbits. Must be a very crowded space.

SpaceX and the alikes are making the space like junkyard, it is just like the wild west when people run around to claim ownership of land, this time it is the orbit. Even if their 42000 satellite project fails like the oneweb before, they can racketeer/blackmail whoever that want to or can utilize those orbits.
