Correction. From the link you can see that 腾云 (Tengyun) is HTHL, but all demos show a two stage configuration, it is not SSTO. The second stage is rocket based. The combined cycle engine is for the first stage.

This wording "The 2nd stage achieved VTVL in Sept 2020" is very confusing. First of all, it is a test without first stage, so there is no way for a HTHL test. Whatever that VTVL means, it would not be used in operation because the whole concept is HTHL.

Sorry brainfart. Got a bit confused with a few different projects.

and extract samples in 2025. It will then carry the samples back to Earth orbit in 2026 and drop it off by jettisoning the sample returner. The probe – now free of the samples – will fly away to astroid

to perform remote observation, which will take place sometime in 2032.

Interestingly, the probe features both touch-and-go and anchor-and-attach architectures to maximize the chances of a successful landing. Also interesting is the implementation of the anchor-and-attach method. Instead of using a single anchor/drill, the probe features four landing legs, with each leg having its own drill.

Seen this one before, was wondering why the 1st stage and boosters are placed like this or it was just a bad drawing. I am really eager to see the official model.

Have we seen a model of this at Zhuhai? The show is now over, and I have yet to find further information on this. Maybe the graphic was a bad drawing after all.

The Dongfang Hour is a non political YouTube channel, strictly focusing Chinese space and rocket program. The two guys here truly know their stuff in detail, although its a bit distracting to see Harry Potter hosting the channel. Here they go into the Zhuhai show and cover the space and rocket industry aspects there.

No, I haven't seen any, nor heard any. I think it is just a bad (official) social media report.

All social media influencers including the one working for government tend to use exaggerated words and pretending small for big, known for unknown. It is the natural of social media.
