We are getting way off topic. But just to set the record straight here.
A “new era for the US Space Program” began on February 13, 1969, when President Richard Nixon established the Space Task Group (STG). The purpose of this committee was to conduct a study to recommend a future course for the US Space Program. The STG presented three alternative long-range space plans. All included an Earth–orbiting space station, a space shuttle, and a manned Mars expedition.
