SY-9 is probably a GEO based sat to collect space situational awareness data about other objects on orbit.
China equivalent of DoD GSSAP sat. GSSAP satellites can perform rendezvous and proximity operations, approaching other space vehicles to provide attribution or enhanced surveillance on objects.
China also have two other SY-6 sat doing space surveillance in LEO

Some precision
SY-6: space environment detection
SY-9: space environment monitoring

China could blind orbital satellites with ground or space based lasers if it came to that to render them useless either temporarily or permanently.

I still think that here SpaceX with its starship under development could offer so much capability to the US military that unless China radically steps up on the game and funds something similar it will be in deep deep trouble.

When the starship is developed and then presented to the US military it will immediately became the launcher that will enable the military to build multiple force multipliers

I can see many future capabilities that US could build.

One guess is to build a low-orbit constellation of military grade satellites which could continuously monitor everything and more specifically the Indo-Pacific region, then with a lot of AI development after 5-7 years build an all system capable of intelligent real-time monitoring of China forces.

Ideally it should be able to monitor real time positioning of brigades down to individual vehicles and even soldiers. The same could apply to combat aircraft flying, or ships deployed. So at any time the US military could have real time intelligent data on China's forces.

And in the future they could take this to a step further which would be horrifying for China's military. With the launch of so many satellites they could provide targeting data for China's troops. So you can imagine that at any time the US could have targeting data for any Chinese military asset so all this stealth, ambush tactics, and everything else would be meaningless in front of it.

Keep.in mind that this is just one capability i thought in 5 minutes, i have some other ideas as well, and i am sure the pentagon has a cabinet full of proposals which could build other force multiplier capabilities.

Well they could be, but then who knows maybe the US with the new capability offered by the starship could put in place defences on the space to guard against this.

This is why i am saying the starship is such a radical change. It opens up a an entire new war domain in the space. Its like combat aircraft, ok you might have SAMs but you need aircraft as well, ok you have coastal batteries but you need ships as well. Playing defence is not feasible, attacking provides much more strategic flexibility.

What thread is this? What does the thread title say? Could you take your off-topic speculations somewhere else?

@Deino @siegecrossbow, could you check to see if @voyager1 is a puppet account of permanently banned member @Austin Powers, or maybe even a puppet account of @gadgetcool5?

A Ka-band high-speed wireless telemetry measurement and control unit. It was first installed on the LM-8 carrier rocket. It achieves 100% coverage of low-to-medium altitude telemetry measurements.

According to a Chinese news segment, Ka-band wireless telemetry measurement modules – first installed on the LM-8 carrier rocket – was also installed on the CZ-7A. It beamed telemetry data of the launch to ground stations. In the future, this technology will obviate the need for Yuan Wang space tracking ships.

Lol what? This thread is under the section "STRATEGIC DEFENCE". SpaceX developing a cheap and fast launcher capable of sending a 100 ton payload to low earth orbit which the US Space Force has repeatedly hailed as a game changing capability is absolutely relevant to "Strategic Defence".

Here is a link where TRANSCOM (Transportation Command/logistics in the US military) is studying the capability of Starship to rapidly send cargo and troops to any hotspot around the world with a travel time of 1 hour.

If you dont think that in the future (2-3 years) SpaceX's Starship will not seriously affect China's military space capabilities then i frankly i think you are off-topic here. Let me remind you again that this thread is under "STRATEGIC DEFENCE", you see this word? DEFENCE.

Finally i would appreciate if you didnt throw baseless accusations to me that i am an alternative account without evidence. Thanks.

No, this thread is called "China's Space Program News Thread", not "China's space weapons thread", or "Chinese space defense vs U.S. Space Offense capabilities". Your posts were strictly off-topic, so take them elsewhere.

Ok you are right, i looked through and i haven't seen any relevant thread discussing this important emerging war domain and thats why i posted here so apologies.
I think that this domain needs a separate section not another thread but that depends on the mods.

Anyway, i will refrain from posting war domain developments and capabilities on this thread from now on

No problem. By either convention or tradition, this particular thread is reserved for mostly civilian side of Chinese space program. Just open a new thread under strategic defense section to discuss your thoughts on SpaceX's starship.

Anyway, cheers.
