Funny that the CCG is deliberately targeting the radars and other expensive equipment onboard the Philippines ship while leaving the crew alone, as China has obviously concluded that the Philippines cares more about expensive equipment than its sailors.
Sir mission kill, that boat will be hard to replace and be inactive for a year of repair, with little naval asset available mission accomplished no more naughty move until next year.

A year to replace off-the-shelf commercial radar and other assorted navigation and communications gear? That’s a bit shocking to be honest. Or is that due to the budget/costs of funding the replacements as opposed to time needed to actually do the repairs?

Lol... Obviously China has no ships from the Philippines. The PH can't build ships. That's also the reason why it is choosing foreign ships to sink in its inventory. It's not a show of strength. It's a show of weakness. Using political symbolism to cover a serious lack of industrial and military power. A childish act.

China is a proper industrial and military power. It can just sink one of its own derelict ships like what the US normally does in its own SINKEX.

I'm curious, are the radar and other expensive equipment actually damaged by the water cannon? From the outside they look alright.

It started spinning in the opposite direction. What do you think? Just because the shell looks intact doesn’t mean the electronics underneath are unscathed, especially after being bathed in high pressure sea water.

At least the glass stayed intact this time right? Last time the water cannon went through the whole ship!

If you mean this image, I don't think the water is actually piercing through the ship. Looks more like some of the water is going over the roof which appears similar since the angle is high. But if the pressure was high enough to penetrate the hull, I would expect a lot more injuries than we've seen so far.

From the video which was from a reporter in that ship I posted of the previous incidence, the water did go through the ship and broke the glass.

I am aware of the previous incident which broke the window, and the video shows the water coming from transparent areas (i.e. window). I was referring to the idea that the water broke the hull of the ship, which I don't think ever happened.
