So let me get this straight, this is the new SCS Eight Nation Army?

France: one SSN and one resupply ship, just to be extra clear where the sub is at any moment
Germany: one lousy frigate
Spain: a damn sailing ship

Are you guys like, actually following Biden's command or are you trying to telegraph to the whole world how terrified you are of upsetting China?
It honestly does read like that. They get it both ways, contributing the minimum to the US while showing they dont really mean it to China.

You think I'm joking about that Spanish sailing ship and it's just passing through,

On 26/02/2020, Juan Sebastián de Elcano conducted joint exercise with JMSDF Asagiri-class destroyer Yuugiri near Guam, the exercise consisted of tactical manoeuvring and communications exercise.

I'm curious as to what sort of tactical manoeuvring can be done between these two ships. Did Juan Sebastián de Elcano sail along side Yuugiri at a few knots and then threw some boarding hooks across?

I am just kinda curious, how is the US viewed very favorably by the Vietnamese? In this 2018 survey, Vietnam is ranked highest among countries that have a positive attitude towards the US.

Do people of Vietnam have short memories? One would think that images like the one below would leave a lasting mark in people's minds. The government of Vietnam is making a big mistake by patronizing their greatest oppressor

Vietnam is divided into North and South. South Vietnamese have always been extremely pro-West and pro-US. As for the North Vietnamese, due to Vietnamese government fear of China, their schools avoid teaching anything negative about the US and focusing on negative about China.

Except in 2008 financial crisis when Vietnam was forced to ask for aid from China, Vietnam media rarely has much positive things said about China. For countries such as Vietnam, Japan, and South Korea, they just don't want to see a resurgence of China. Historically, China is the dominated power in the East Asia and all of these countries just don't want to live in the shadows of China. That's why these countries prefer to be the US client states because for thousands of years this is the first time they don't have to look up to China as the center of power.

Answer is simple. They fear a dominant China in their backyard just as the former Soviet states fear a dominant Russia.

South Vietnamese have always been extremely pro-West and pro-US.

Why wasn't this rectified after Vietnam's unification? The Vietnamese government have all the power and authority they need to enforce patriotic education and stamp out any remaining influence left by America. By allowing American soft power influence to take root Vietnamese authorities are doing the same mistake as Hong Kong. When the time is ripe, all the US needs to do is whip up Pro Democrazy sentiments among the population and protests will flood the streets in no time. Again, the government of Vietnam is making a huge gamble by turning a blind eye to American influence operations in their country.

That's why these countries prefer to be the US client states because for thousands of years this is the first time they don't have to look up to China as the center of power.

So these countries are willing to ignore America's atrocities to their own people just to secure American support in standing up to China. I think only countries that have lost self respect resort to these actions.
