There are plenty of similar models used by other nations. In addition, many such UUVs are used for civilian scientific research and these are not exclusively for military applications.

Such wave rider UUVs are also, as the name suggests, wave riders and rely on sea currents for the overwhelming majority of their power, which is what gives them their long endurance. It’s doubtful they would have the ability to break free if caught in strong enough currents.

This post had a political dimension so instead of posting it in the coronavirus thread. I put it here, remember the last post that China promise the Philippine a Vaccine and wasn't acted upon due to our health dep't preferring a western vaccine, maybe corruption may play a part or a condition stated on the World Bank Corona virus loan agreement to buy Pfizer and other western vaccine. Well for whatever reason the controversy is forcing other gov't department who can't wait for our FDA approval to act especially our PSG whose mission is to protect our President. With it's inaction we had to wait until March to get the CHINESE vaccine instead of today, such fuck up is common if you associated yourself with western pharma.

Philippines warns of unapproved Covid-19 shots as soldiers get jabs

MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte’s senior ministers and bodyguards have already received a vaccine that local regulators have yet to approve.

“I know some from the Cabinet and from the PSG (Presidential Security Group) who have already been inoculated,” Interior Minister Eduardo Ano, who is among the overseers of a coronavirus task force, said in a radio interview on Monday (Dec 28).

But Mr Duterte himself has yet to get a shot, he said.

Soon after word got out of this early mass vaccination, the Health Ministry issued a warning against the use of unauthorised vaccines.

The mixed messaging is throwing the Philippines’ vaccination programme into disarray.

Mr Ano declined to identify the vaccine used, but said it had already received emergency use authorisation abroad.

In his morning news conference, Mr Duterte’s spokesman Harry Roque said soldiers were among those given the vaccine manufactured by China’s Sinopharm.

Defence Secretary Delfin Lorenzana later disclosed that these were men and women assigned as Mr Duterte’s bodyguards.

Sinopharm’s vaccine has yet to be cleared by regulators, and the manufacturer has not even applied for the vaccine’s emergency use authorisation in the Philippines.

But Mr Roque said the vaccine “is safe”.

He said it has already been authorised for emergency use in the United Arab Emirates, which has rated it as 86 per cent effective, and is already being widely used in China.

He also suggested that vaccines that have already been allowed for emergency use in other countries, including those of Pfizer and Moderna, should already be safe to use here.

Clearance from the Philippines’ Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is needed only to sanction commercial distribution and sale of vaccines, he said.

No one can sell or distribute vaccines without the FDA’s approval, he said. But anyone who can secure doses on their own can have themselves inoculated, without being prosecuted.

“The law does not bar anyone from getting shots of unregistered vaccines,” Mr Roque said.

In a statement later in the day, the PSG itself sought to justify why its men were inoculated with an unapproved vaccine.

“As the unit primarily tasked to protect and secure the highest official of the land, the PSG will have to ensure that the President is safe from all threats, including Covid-19. It is the PSG’s primordial task to ensure that we have a healthy president serving our fellow Filipinos every day,” PSG commander Brigadier-General Jesus Durante said.

The PSG has about 4,000 men, but not all are assigned as Mr Duterte’s bodyguards. Some are assigned to Vice-President Leni Robredo, or tasked to protect key government installations.

But the FDA issued its own statement strongly advising against the use of an unsanctioned vaccine.

“Without the proper authorisation, there is no guarantee on the safety, quality and efficacy of said vaccine, as the same has not undergone the required technical evaluation by the FDA,” said the agency’s head, Dr Eric Domingo.

The Health Ministry said in its own statement that “the use of unregistered products poses harm to a person’s health and safety. This is why only vaccines which have been approved and found to be safe should be administered”.

Reports that a number of Cabinet ministers and soldiers, as well as some politicians and businessmen, have already received jabs of vaccines from China and elsewhere quickly drew criticism online.

“The FDA lost all credibility after the government admitted to being the biggest violator of its laws. How can you make the people follow if the government does not even follow and talks its way out of issue after issue, making legal what is illegal?” said Mr Paul John Co in a Facebook post.

The Philippines has been struggling to secure vaccines to inoculate a population of over 100 million.

It is in talks to acquire around 80 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, including from Pfizer, Moderna and

But the soonest it can receive delivery of a vaccine is in March, from China’s Sinovac, with a vaccine that Brazilian researches found to have above 50 per cent efficacy.

Dam sounds like a clusterfuck, but didn't expect anything different from the Philippine government bodies(not that my own government is doing well here in west Europe). The country is for my feeling still quiet divided on China vs US. And the US is doing everything it can to keep the people divided by flaring up the south china sea issue every once in a while.

Given that everybody is pretty much on facebook over there and they even have special data bundles for facebook traffic(at least last year they had when I visited) its a easy target for US psyops.

I was also watching the Filipino foreign minister(Locsin) on twitter how he would react to the StopTheSteal action in Washington DC. He seems to believe or acts like he believes this is just a normal thing for a democracy like the US.

Hi BlackWindMnt,

Happy new year bro and good evening here in the Phil. I think Duterte drop the ball on this one, the previous Chinese ambassador had promise him a 500,000 dosage to be deliver in NOV last year, what he should have done is establish a clinical trial test for fast approval by our FDA who is under the control of our health department ,since he isn't a doctor he entrust that to our incompetent health secretary Duque, who came from the private sector, maybe he had a preference for Western pharma or he is under obligation from World Bank which provide us a loan to purchase Pfizer. Whatever the reason our Ambassador in Beijing Mr Sta Romana had to work overtime to secure one. And Beijing is kind enough to provide ASAP as a gesture of camaraderie. I think with the controversy politics is being used to weaken Duterte, his China policy is one issue the opposition think is his weakest link. But it is also his magic card cause he can declare emergency usage of Sinopharm and other Chinese Vaccine therefore bypassing the FDA process.

I was also watching the Filipino foreign minister(Locsin) on twitter how he would react to the StopTheSteal action in Washington DC. He seems to believe or acts like he believes this is just a normal thing for a democracy like the US.

Bro we perfected that art, remember the EDSA REVOLUTION, how many PEOPLE POWER PROTEST do we had since then, A successful one is with Joseph Estrada in the early 2000 after that it become a template for the elites and the oligarch to threaten Gov't if they can't get their way. And we together with Mr Locsin should be proud cause the American CIA copied and package it as part of their COLOR REVOLUTION strategy. What you see happening in Ukraine, Belarus, Iran, Bolivia, Venezuela and lately HKG, all originated in the Philippine....LOL

Are China and Russia teaming up on the US in the Indian Ocean?

  • Naval exercises and other moves by the two countries in the region suggest they are teaming up to counter the US, India and others
  • But some analysts view the partnership as merely ‘symbolic’, with Beijing and Moscow trying to extend their individual spheres of influence
