Once BRI officially kicks in. China's reliance on SCS as transit point for oil and energy supplies will be over. Their 'SCS naval blackade' and choking Malacca strait will be worthless. Then you americans will be allowed to play your FON operations card in SCS all you want.

the way I see it, the rivalry between China and USA ( and the West ) primarily concerns with Ideology and Race.
As such neither side is going to emerge as a clear winner in this contest, as both sides are too big to be conquered by force. One can only hope that both sides can coexist peacefully, as President Xi once said that the Pacific is big enough for both countries.
Therefore when new comers to this forum charge in like cowboys with guns blazing, I would suggest we simply treat them like a patient teacher, for there is just no way to convert them to your camp no matter how eloquent and convincing you may present your case.
so might as well ignore the obvious trolls, smile and move on, lest we spoil the cordial atmosphere of this forum.
I am kind of sympathetic to the Americans and fully understand their frustrations, particularly after having watched the presidential debate between Trump and Biden. In China, commentators are saying how lucky they are to have President Xi holding the helm, when compared to either of the US presidential hopeful.

Talk of blockading the Malacca straits are only done by idiots who have no grasp of how the world actually works.

The sheer number of shipping going through there, the diverse ownership and very nature of international trade means its impossible to try to separate out shipping destined to or from a specific country there. To try would effectively strange world trade for everyone and you are very unlikely to be effective as paperwork is easily forged if you have a nation state supporting the forging.

The only way to effectively impose a blockade of sea based trade for a specific nation is to blockade them at a geographical point where all or at least the vast majority of shipping in that area will only be going to the targeted country, so you don’t need to worry about trying to work out which civilian ships you need to stop and can just focus on stopping them.

Chinese military might makes and such attempts at a blockade near the mainland coast a suicide mission, so the only remotely viable place on Earth where you can hope to impose such a geographical blockade is the SCS, as shipping destined for other nations can loop around the Philippines to avoid the area without crippling trade altogether for the rest of the world.

That was why the US, under Obama and Hillary, took such an interest in stirring up shit in the SCS and sabotaged a historical agreement between China and the other claimants aimed to resolving the dispute peacefully forever, and instead they actively encouraged the likes of Vietnam and the Philippines to go on a land grabbing frenzy in the region, hoping to be able to use them as cat paws to threaten Chinese trade routes.

What nobody expected was Chinese will and sheer capabilities in building its SCS islands, whereby it turned a few huts barely above water into island bases that can take on entire enemy fleets.

With those islands in place, and with the might of the PLAN and PLAAF behind them, the dream of blockading China in the SCS is shatter forever.

To fight in the SCS would actually now be more difficult and costly than to try to fight China on its own coast.

US military pilots must not use PH aircraft codes: Esperon

MANILA – American military pilots should be cautioned against using hex codes belonging to Philippine aircraft while conducting their surveillance missions, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. said Thursday.
Esperon's remarks came following reports that a US surveillance aircraft disguised itself as a Philippine plane using hex codes assigned to the country while flying over the Yellow Sea.
"Wala pa kaming update (We still don't have an update). We have yet to get the reaction of the US Embassy (in Manila) but it is important to ask them and caution them or inform them if they have not known about that there (are US) pilots (who) have been using the codes that belong to Philippine aircraft and Malaysia," he said in a virtual press briefing.
Earlier, US military planes were reported to have disguised themselves as Malaysian aircraft while conducting missions near China.
Esperon noted that these pilots are trying to test China's reaction and that Philippine aircraft are not known to operate that far as “our planes only operate within the country's air domains.”
"The possibilities are they could be trying really the capacity of China to (react). Just imagine, the incident happened in the Yellow Sea, which is between Korea and China. It is an area where we don't usually go," he said.
Esperon also cited the need for their US counterparts to be reminded that such moves could have serious implications on the Philippines.
"It is something that must be discussed. Nonetheless, we hope that this could be settled satisfactorily between the parties," he added. (PNA)

If you cannot hold back your horses, if you MUS reply to anything in an inappropriate tone, then You are wrong here.

As such you all take this as a warning: The next offensive, political or provoking post will result in two months vacation!

Realistically, China will still be importing oil via sea through the Indian Ocean.
