Nikolay Platoshkin isn't some random person though. Yes, the comment was brought up by a rather "RussiaStonk" Russian who made and brought up that comment which I found rather interesting and sad at the same time. It's interesting since the person who made the comment came from a once (currently in jail) prominent "intellectual" in Russia who still somehow clings the false belief that Russia >>> China.
The Russian lackadaisical effort in their war with Ukraine speaks volume of their hubris and monumental stupidity along with their imbecilic racist take on China ....I digress.

I think you and others who want to post musings from people on social media need to ask the question: does the poster’s comment matter? If no, then posting the comments here other than the funny thread will only pollute the forum with stupid takes.
It's commonly said in Russian nationalist circles that Russia is fighting "the entire Western world" alone and they are doing a good job of it because if it were any other power, the West could have easily defeated another power... but Russia... mighty Russia has managed to withstand the West for over a year. Belittle others to make Russia seem strong. It's comforting for ultra nationalists in Russia to explain away how a supposed week long war isn't winnable because if it were even China in Russia's position, it would have been defeated quickly. Delusions upon delusions. This is with all due respect to Russia and Russian people. I do not mean to belittle them but their ultra nationalists are something else. Would make the nuttiest yank or bhakt blush.

Say whatever you want about Biden and Trump but they did manage to have a bunch of countries to join their military build-up cause. Japan and Australia first and then the Phillippines and PNG. This is no big deal for China. But this still requires extra military spending.

Does Indonesia have the ability and will to enforce its own airspace if American or Australian forces choose to violate it in the event of Taiwan or SCS scenario?
I bet that the "extra" spending must have been in budget for decades. CPC and PLA have never assumed that the US will be the only foreign enemy in the battle to liberate Taiwan.
Indonesia is not a middle power like say Ukraine or Japan, where the number of air defenses would present a problem if people started overflying it.
A bigger issue is how Indonesia will react once American planes with their payloads crash over Indonesian cities. They could either side with China to seal their airspace, or join the aggressors due to Indonesian civilian casualties accidentally caused from China defending itself. Even if that isn't very rational, civilians getting killed tend to cause more irrational behavior.
