One more Chinese university quits from "international rankings". On May 8, a deputy director of the Renmin University of China confirmed to reporter that the governing body of the institution has made the decision to no longer take part in any "international rankings". Nanjing University and Lanzhou University have already been reported for taking the same action recently.

Honestly it reads like a bunch of excuses. There are several Chinese universities ranked in the top and if these Universities feel that they should be up there they should try harder.
