This is going to harden Western attitudes against China hardcore. Next time someone says, "the US just cant stand China's rise as a competitor." No, it's not because of China's "rise." It's because of repulsive policies like this.

Not really. The article's only focusing on a few nations but ignoring huge players like Russia. Also, the same logic can be applied that the US is facing an ever more hostile world to its policies.

What is happening with ASEAN countries is a geopolitical disaster for China
Been like that for decades, not really any worse now at all.

First of all, I don't trust Western reporting on Chinese policies. Secondly, minorities have enjoyed less limits to birth control than Hans for decades and I think that's BS. Removing their special privileges is fair; it was repulsive to ever give them any.

The graph shows sterilization rates in Xinjiang are now far higher than they ever were for Hans. If that is true, would you consider that fair, or admit that it may be biased?

True that there is something happening there but don't be naive. Don't be a victim of USG hypocrisy.
All of this is the result of china weak PR policy.

Makes up for decades of forcefully sterilizing more Hans than Uighurs. If they keep this forceful sterilization of Uighurs up for a few decades, all will be balanced as it should be. :)

Fareed Zakaria repeating what's been said for years...? Again no different from the crowd in here who thinks being liked is that important. China is not the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union wasn't economically integrated into the world economy. Any actions has economic repercussions on to themselves. If you don't need China, break off relations right now! Trump's been threatening it all these years. Why hasn't he done it?

What if I told you that nearly the entire Han population was under a 1 child policy for 30-40 years?

India has banned WeChat and TikTok. About 30% of TikTok's user base was in India. Another gut punch to a Chinese company thanks to a border clash that achieved nothing.

About 59 apps were part of the ban. This will result in massive loss of revenue, for China's strategic software industry. At this point ByteDance should just spin off TikTok and leave China, no point in being part this...
