Both are WS-10s. The J-16 on the left has a newer version of the WS-10 with feathered nozzles. The J-16 on the right is from one of the earlier batches as can be seen by the grey radome instead of the white one that corresponds to later batches.

How do you get that? They look very much the same to me.
Pic 2 - you can see the sloping front of the helmet which is the most prominent difference from the regular helmet. It does look rounder, but I think it is an optical illusion.
Other key differences from the regular helmet seen in all pics
- Motion Capture bumps on the back
- Indent around visor hinge
huh... maybe we aren't talking of the same helmet. I thought we were discussing the left helmet in 1st pic, not the right one lol
The discussion was about the HMD helmet which is obviously the right side helmet which is also the only one in pic 2 and 3
because the helmet in pic 2&3 looks rounded, my brain just look for the rounded helmet in pic 1 and decided to use the left helmet for comparison lol
The interior padding is person specific most likely, would be surprised if the exterior change... it would be interesting to see if they have weight problems like the US with the F-35 HMD.

The F-35 HMD is person specific and moulded to fit the pilot’s head perfectly.
