News report on PLANAF starting at 4:19 mark, noteworthy for its length and amount of information.

1) The squadron reported has switched to a point-based system for aerial combat training. I think that PLAAF has made the switch several years prior for Golden Helmet exercise. Seems like that PLANAF is a bit slow at adapting to new changes.
2) Report focused on J-10A/S supplementing Su-30s during aerial combat exercises. This is nothing new (first reported last year) but the news report once again reiterated that J-10s have superior radar/avionics and handle the BVR portion of combat and the Su-30s are more maneuverable and handle the WVR portion. This confirms that the flanker series, even a dual seater like the Su-30, has superior STR than the J-10, which probably has to compensate with ITR and roll rate. This news is profoundly disturbing since PLANAF currently needs a medium weight, or Low-End fighter, to perform BVR duties due to the inadequacies of N001 on Su-30. @huitong recently released an image of a supposed PLANAF J-16, which will probably constitute the whole package. Until then, they have to make do with the J-10/Su-30 combo.
3) Su-30 was shown flying with PL-12 and PL-8. I wonder if Su-35s can be integrated with domestic missiles later down the line.
4) PLANAF planes are tasked with intercepting foreign aircraft. I wonder how many of the 3000 or so intrusions to Chinese ADIZ since the start of 2021 were intercepted.

It’s talking about Eastern Theater naval air force the "sea and air eagle regiment" recently confronted foreign military aircraft for about an hour, and succeeded in driving away foreign military aircraft by winning more with less.
The "Sea and Air Eagle Regiment" is a famous unit of PLANAF, It began to be equipped with Su-30mk2 fighters in 2003.

I think the video is about the brigade where the naval air force "Sea and Air Eagle Regiment" is located. This brigade has always been equipped with Su-30mk2 and J-10 fighter jets. The "Sea and Air Eagle Regiment" was appointed as the Blue Force unit to train various naval air force units.
Here is a more detailed video:

Compared with the PLAF, the PLANAF equipment is very backward. It is only used for coastal patrol missions. In order to facilitate regular patrol missions, it is more convenient for fighters to be subordinate to the command of the navy.
In recent years, Chinese fighter jets have carried out their prestigious cruise missions to the Taiwan Strait, mainly by H6k, J-16, Su-35 , Jh-7a fighters, J-10 fighters are relatively rare.
Why do cctv military reports recently mentioned the training of the Fourth Brigade? I think these reports have more political significance than the military. The reason comes from the CPC100th years anniversary, The heroic troops in the army have been repeatedly publicized and reported, It is normal for the "Sea and Air Eagle Regiment" and its fourth brigade to be reported. The fourth brigade has always been equipped with only Su30mk2 and J10 fighter jets. This brigade is also the best equipped naval air force unit. However, there has recently been news on the Internet that the brigade will be equipped with J-16 fighter jets.
