Thanks Deino, my typo regarding J20. However, the burning question is why some have pitot tubes [J15 and others], other don't [J20] ? what are the criteria that determine the configuration?
AESA radars typically have issues with pitot tubes (mounted in front of them, which is why you won’t find one in front of a J-16). They also increase radar signature, so stealthy aircraft designs try to either avoid them (by using things like pitot ports and air data sensors that are flush against the skin of the aircraft) - or they mitigate it by changing the placement, size (F22/35) and/or coating with RAM (F117s pitot probes).

That being said, F16Vs with AESAs have a pitot mounted at the tip of the nose cone, which may or may not validate certain musings about J-11BG.

Why this jet does not have pitot tube? J20, J15 have? I have asked this before, but no one has given me an answer. Would like to hear your view.

Though there is not a pitot tube at the tip of the nose cone on J-16, there are several behind the radome:

From J-11 to J-16, the changes in the positions and sizes of fuselage-mounted pitot tubes are quite noticeable:

This is not the case in the changes from J10A/S to J10B/C. Since this is a Flanker thread, the discussion will continue there.

Thanks xyqq, why does the J15 Flying Shark carrier born fighter not configured similar to J16?

Most likely since it still has no AESA installed.
I have noticed that nowadays some planes will usually fly with PL-8/PL-12 and some with PL-10/PL-15. From the images I viewed I get the impression that the PL-10/15 combination is mostly represented with J-10C/J-16/J-20 and some J-11s from what I recall. While I doubt that other types are inherently incapable of firing these missiles I have to notice that the 10 and 15 is almost exclusively seen on AESA equipped fighter jets.
I think this might be due to additional software updates that the PL-10 and PL-15 require that for a reason occur on upgrade to AESA radar.

What do you think of this? And consequntly would then the spotting of PL-15 or PL-10s on fighter jets be a good method to assess whether there is an AESA installed/testing is done with regards to it?

I ask this because I don't think we have seen any shot of Batch III J-15 with any weapons, and I would be quite perplexed if China is producing non AESA J-15s while literally all other production lines include them.
