hmmmmm I found something quite interesting on google earth. Turns out that there seems to be a J-15 electronic warfare aircraft and possibly a J-16 electronic warfare aircraft (I judged by the rather large pods mounted on wingtips) in the Shenyang aircraft cooperation airstrip. Both planes are in grey, which may be an indication that the planes are in final test stage?View attachment 52300 View attachment 52301

Thanks a lot for your post. IMO the post of the week. :)

However I'm not sure if the second image is indeed a J-16D, the wing-tips look slimmer than on the J-15D .... anyway a most interesting post.

Thanks.

The latest GE imagery of the SAC facility (26 February 2019) shows the new building virtually complete. At 400m x 80m it is one of the largest on the site and has direct access to the apron so I would be very surprised if its not related to production or at the very least major upgrade activities.

Could You post an image or better, where did You find a most recent one? When I open GoogleEarth, it shows still 2018/10/23 with the roof missing.

Hi Deino,

On GE Pro, if you use the historical imagery function it sometimes brings up even more recent imagery (for small areas) than the baseline view. I strongly recommend looking at historical imagery for all new developments, for instance thats how I spotted the dry-dock modifications for the 055 fit-out process. You can see the almost complete facility in the attached image.

The J-15D image was posted here last November.

Ten JL-10Hs and seven J-11BSHs assigned to the PLAN Naval Air University (NAU) at Suizhong/Liaoning spotted on 19 April 2019. The Flankers were allegedly handed over from the South China Sea Fleet .
