However with a few "minor" mistakes in regard to Chinese Flankers ... ;)

That raised a general question about the chinese Flanker development in my mind. I hope it doesn't sound too stupid asking the obvious.

So is the J-15S a Su-27K gone two seat or a carrier ops uprated -27UBK? Does it really matter at this point?
In the same way: Would it in the end be as correct to say the J-15 and J-16 are somehow all -27SK by heritage and after further development fill the role fo what -30MKK does? Or is it really a different development path from the J-11s and traces it's roots to imported MKKs?

No master Scratch, it is a good question, the simplistic answer from the AFB is a "Flanker, is a Flanker, is a Flanker", true in the ultimate sense,(and yes, I should copyright that), but out of deference to our many brethren who "know" the Flankers so well, and they have my admiration. Of course the most important difference in my mind are the subtle differences between Russian and Chinese Flankers, while the Russian Flankers may have uprated engines with OVT, and yes that does help the big bird "go round the corners", in spite of what many brighter lads on here will tell you, the Su-35 is a very agile aircraft, and a fabulous airshow bird?? as well a very fine fighter aircraft. On the other hand, I like the Chinese Flankers the best as they are much cleaner aircraft, as I noted the J-15s are awesome looking in their zinc-chromate primer, how many aircraft can you really say that about, if I could choose an aircraft to park out at the shed, and fly off the farm strip, it would have to be the J-15S the tu-holer, one of my all time favorite airplanes,,,,,??

The 2014 PLAAF golden Helmet award:

Six Pilots:

2 SU30MKK Pilots:颜峰,王立

1 J8F Pilots:陈鸿程

1 J10 Pilots:肖立军

1 J-11B with WS-10A engine :李海明

1 J-11B with AL-31F:李凌

Take note that it is the first time a J-11B fighter with WS-10A engine wining the golden helmet arward !! This proves that WS-10A has achieved high reliability and can finally match the AL-31FN, although it is still not on the same level as the 117S, but it is getting there !

That really made my day !

Hey, it is not a Pegasus as I thought at first it is a stylized Eagle's head + a 33 !!

Hope that PLAAF will re-introduce some more of these unit markings or badges ....
By the way one of pilots has the "Golden Helmet" on.

Do You know what would be even more impressive ??? ... I would love to see the Chinese PLAAF-Flankers - similar to the PLANAF-J-15s - in a J-10-style two-tone light-air-superiority grey scheme !!!

This old two-tone dark grey on top/light grey on the bottom scheme is simply outdated  ....

Chinese "Maverick": "Goose...get the camera ready. I'm about to buzz the tower."

Chinese "Goose": "Ok Mav. This will be a great shot of the tower officer getting his hot coffee spilled all over him.":p:D
