the things is that FOBS is not a permanent weapon in the orbit, it is just a warhead delivery system and since the 1960 the war space technology improved at an unbelievable speed, that 's why Trump created the United States Space Force and that 's why the US thinks China is developing a new FOBS (

), and seen China mesmerizing space program progress that one can follow even on this forum I was thinking about the likelyhood of developing in parallel to a new FOBS a new Satellite ICBM delivery (space to earth weapons) with the sinergies created by the above military and civilian programs...
FOBS is already on shaky legal ground, permanent deployment of nukes in Earth orbit is clearly illegal under the Outer Space Treaty.

What are you guys thoughts on this recent news? It seems like an area that Russia and China has an edge over the US and they should collaborate instead. Combining Russian Aerospace technology with Chinese manufacturing prowess could go a long way towards a successful hypersonic missile program.

What advantage would a "Satellite ICBM delivery (space to earth weapons)" system have over a regular ICBM or a FOBS?
Does it have greater range? == No
Does it have greater payload capacity? == No
Is it more accurate? == No
Is it cheaper? == No

The only thing (I can think of off the top of my head) is maybe your system allows you to hide your intentions better. In theory you can hide a 2,500 kg bomb inside a communications satellite and launch it into LEO and hope that nobody is smart enough to know what you're trying to do. However you better make your satellite look exactly like any other normal one. If not then a telescope from the ground will spot it easy. Secondly your satellite will have to give off appropriate radio signals so it can "pretend" to be a communications satellite. Radio signals can be detected easily. Your satellite will have to "Look" and "Sound" exactly right or else your plan has been revealed.

I think it would be MUCH easier to just build regular ICBMs that are road mobile (like what China has) and hide them inside of military warehouses. Not every warehouse will have missiles. Perhaps for every 3 warehouses only 1 actually has missiles.... like 3 card monte. You can move your missiles around to keep the enemy guessing. You can drive a truck with a tarp over it from one warehouse to the next: is there a missile underneath or is it empty? maybe yes? maybe no? Even if the enemy has a surveillance drone over your head how can he tell?

Except isn't the Chinese ahead of the Russians in both regards? What cooperation is there? There are only a few things the Russians are ahead but even though will be passed within this decade.

Aside the legal issues, there is a general rule that throwing an object over somebody's head is considered very rude. In that case putting a bomb in orbit and keeping it there seems like a pretty good way to piss off EVERYBODY else on the planet.

From a IR international relations perspective this is very bad. No nation, no matter how powerful, can afford to have the rest of the world unite against it.

Is df-11 being replaced by pcl-191 mrl? Has a pcl191 in use with pla army been sighted with the 750mm diameter ballistic missiles?

And if the above is true, does it all mean the rocket forced have handed off a part of their role over to the army? And are now tasked with only medium and above ranged missile strikes?

Cannot find any others source yet. Tho it’s not like we need it given the pentagon gave an estimate already.

China is in the process of increasing its nuclear arsenal by 3-4 times. This statement was made Friday at a briefing by US Deputy Defense Secretary for Political Affairs Colin Cole

"China is building its nuclear arsenal at a very fast pace - three or even four times," he said.

edit - and i don't think so, this is the big news. Chinese defense minister confirmed. we are watching silos construction and regular Chinese ballistic missile test. China doing this since 2019. it is matter of time until China have much larger nuclear arsenal.
