With all due respect, I believe that statement holds up pretty well, inlight of the recent disengagement agreement. Don't you agree that disengagement is a good thing? I would definitely like Indo-Sino relations to go somewhat back to normal. If the disengagement process goes well, maybe there could even be another Xi-Modi summit.
US goal is accomplished which is to make Indian populace hate China.

Chinese don't really care about Indians, but gl convincing the Indians to make peace.

US is working extra hard on the Myanmar narrative right now which is China backed coup.

China always maintains a neutral stand on other country's internal affairs of non-interference. I would therefore refute your remarks that "China backed coup"

It is good that the disengagement is happening. The whole Galwan situation should never have happened to begin with. What was gained? Nothing. All else equal, good relations are always better than bad relations.

That being said, China at this time should focus on more advanced countries like the US to compete with and not measure itself against India.

Indian populace never really liked Chinese in the first place. The only thing that gets them moving is the religio-cultural aspects of things. And on that regard, they'll try to assume they are better because Chinese took in Buddhism "from them".

I therefore term them, incompetent Culture-Nazis (ICN).

Why is this thread here btw. Heh.

Wow this is just lacking in insight. It's not simply a matter of disengage is good.

It's been only 9 months since the first engagement.
- What did you expect to change in less than a year?
- What are your/our sources to read the whole situation accurately, and are we confident about their trustworthiness?
- Do you think we can accurately guess all the long-term consequences?
- It appears that China is quite focused on the main goal: being the number one. The Chinese media says much on that account by their dismissive attitude toward their Indian counterparts' shenanigans.
- As long as Modi and his bunch are in power, there is no room for better bilateral relations.

By most accounts, "engagement" started back in Feb when news in May revealed a fair bit of then unreported confrontations. Movements and responses have gone back at least to Feb if not earlier iirc.

Look at this thread constantly lying about how China is sending troops and gear to aid the Myanmar military.

Mind if I provide a footnote? People still misunderstand the goals and results of the Sino-Vietnamese War of 1979 and falsely conclude it as a Chinese defeat, despite the myriad of contemporary sources tell us a whole different story.
