Oh, don't worry. I'm 100% sure and am proud to say that China is, in fact, one of the (if not the) best students when it comes to learning new things, including in the military domain.

So China now has 35 052D, 10 055, and 6 052C in active service. Total number of modern destroyers is 51. The US has 74 Burkes in active service with the Ticos on their way out. Seeing these numbers makes me feel that the PLAN is finally carrying some hefty weight haha, both figuratively and literally.

Is hq26 a thing and if so how likely hq26 and hhq19 will replace the hhq9 series of missile for the navy to form an anolog to the sm3 and sm6

Curious as to the current state of 052D procurement. According to Chinese wiki, apart from the 35 in active service, there are only 2 additional units undergoing sea trials and a single unit fitting out. Has there been any news of any additional batches being ordered?

IIRC, tender documents were seen late last year I believe (Nov/Dec?) showing that the 052D class should be going over 40+ ships. I think if you check in the 052D thread from those months you should find it. If not there, it may be the PLA Navy news thread.
