That's only because all the low-income people got fired while white collar workers, who are higher earners, did not.
Is that how it's calculated? Total income of the demographic divided by the employed population or the total income of the demographic divided by the total population? I think it's the latter. That's only because all the low-income people got fired while white collar workers, who are higher earners, did not.

When the Defense Department launched , an effort to remake American military technology through artificial intelligence, it leaned on a team of about a dozen engineers working at Google. Many of them, according to two people familiar with the arrangement, were Chinese citizens.
The Pentagon was fine with that, they said, even amid rising tensions between Washington and Beijing. Classified data was not involved, the Pentagon reasoned, and the American military needed the most qualified minds for the job.
The Trump administration is now moving to limit Chinese access to advanced American research, as relations between the United States and China reach . That worries many of the companies and scientists in the heady realm of cutting-edge A.I., because much of the groundbreaking work coming out of the United States has been powered by Chinese brains.
A — a think tank run by the Paulson Institute, which promotes constructive ties between the United States and China — estimated that Chinese-educated researchers comprised nearly one-third of the authors of the papers accepted and promoted at a prestigious A.I. conference last year, more than from any other country. But it also found that most of them lived in the United States and worked for American companies and universities.

In general, China pays less than the US and you can buy less with your pay in China that you can with your pay in the US, especially if you compare somewhere like Beijing/Shanghai to somewhere like Texas/Georgia. However, this flip flops when applied to super talents in which China can pay ridiculous amounts for. So this results in a dynamic in which if you are just starting out or the kind of employee who takes orders rather than makes decisions (I call these linear contributors) such as a lab tech or lab assistant/aide, your life will be way easier in the US than in China. But if you are a top expert who calls the shots and leads innovation (I call these force multipliers), then your life will be better off in China because while the US will pay you very well, China will pay you riches fit for a king. And of course, there are far less of force multipliers than linear contributors in any field.hearing that Chinese graduated from US universities working at US is "Normal ", but knowing that more than half Chinese undergraduated from China also working at US is really shocking, does US and China salary for in PPP term for those people differ a lot?

Truly exceptional people can make a name for themselves in China and become a superstar.
A Chinese will always be a Chinese in the US and have to struggle like Zoom's founder.
