For anyone living in the US and considering secondary education, your only logical choices are:

1) enter a vocational school and start working in the trades.
2) get a stem degree with a scholarship.
3) get a stem degree without scholarship, by going to a very afforable community college for the first 2 years, then transfer to a reputable university.

Anything else and your shooting yourself in the foot right out the door.

#1 movie on netflix right now is of a Marine getting fake married to a young woman so he can get extra $2000 a month and she can get health insurance for her diabetes meds.... they talk about how they both know its fraud but in the end they still go through with it....

This is a FarCry from the American dream as portrayed 30 years ago or even back in the 50s when US GDP was half of the entire world....

$10 McDonalds breakfast, canned Spam being locked up in security boxes and 5 year olds working at restuarants, its the new norm....

Sounds like most countries in South America.

There is an elite, who are doing well and are wealthy.

A struggling middle class that really needs to work at it to stay that way, to maintain their living standards.

Then a real large class of poor or working poor. Most of these people have no chance. That is their lot in life and they are stuck there. Their only real hope is getting out. Evident with those anti-Trump caravans heading towards the southern borders.

How about working Uber until early morning, working as school janitor in the morning, then returning to your teaching job in the day?

If you don't sleep at all, you might be able to pay off your debt before you die.
Weak i just extend the day to 32 hours because i embrace the grind life style.
She should just bootstrap her own time dilation device...

Okey on a serious note, its a sad sad state when a normal 40 hour work week isn't enough to enjoy life.
The US really needs some socialism.
