If the trend is not corrected, it will be a case of "the bigger they are, the harder they fall", as the hulking mass will necessitate greater and greater sunk expenditure to uphold rather than spending on long term investments like education and infrastructure.
The establishment is pushing harder and harder for cuts to medicare and social security. They will literally let old unproductive Americans die of disease and hunger before relinquishing the global empire.
Wonder if Biden will be the one to ramrod such cuts through.

What happened to the western democratic right to life? Or does that only apply to those under the age of 65 before medicare and social security kicks in. That explains why the western democracy did not treat COVID-19 seriously because it only disproportionally kills those over 65.

They need to save their global democratic empire.

Don't you know saying "Democracy", "Freedom" and "Human right" means you don't actually have to do anything as a government.

Western leaders be like okey everybody now with feeling shout "Democracy, freedom and human right" as loud and as focused as you can, but don't backwards while we fatally attempt to save the empire.

All of this would have been unnecessary had the US not actively worked to sabotage the Chinese production ramp up. If China had been able to create the fabs they invested in and get them to working order it would have decreased the pressure on the world market for chips.
Add to that all the extraneous purchases Chinese suppliers had to make because of the instabilities in the world chip supply chain thanks to Trump's sanctions which sucked even more production.
