I know there are homeless people everywhere in the world. But this is America. The riches and most powerful country in the world. As Well as the human cost of These people. In economics, these people are not being productive. It's a drag on the US economy.

Yeah, I did watch that video as well and this is pretty fucked up. I beat Europe is probably going to go down this path as well given the second wave is causing a lot of damage, but I believe that the UK is going to taste the worst of it

I live in the U.K. and obviously this is the last thing I want for me and my children. So no one wish for this to happen to anyone.

So don't get me wrong, I'm not gloating at the US misfortune. Or the U.K. But sometimes, particularly when they play politics and try to stick one over China for geopolitik. Like Huawei thing and the Hong Kong BNO fiasco. Purely for their domestic audiences, but at the ethnic minorities expense. So at times like that, I feel, you know what, they deserve what they are getting. I know it's wrong. So please don't beat me up over it.

I apologies if you think that I enjoy this sort of thing happening but really I don't (particularly to the ordinary people), a lot of what is happening in the UK is avoidable provided that they have had wise and decisive leadership, something that unfortunately not present in the likes of Boris Johnson and even in previous leadership, it is also not even there, heck the whole thing there is a circus. I believe that those who follow the likes of Trump are destined for trouble and sadly, this isn't going to end any time soon given that people look to politics to the point where common sense is simply not there.

I also have children and I understand the feeling, hence why even though some of my friends note the interest I have in politics, I would never go into such things myself and as such, I also fear for my families safety, hence I try to do what I can to keep them out of harms way. Please keep safe there, hopefully things will improve in the UK soon

No need to apologise. I didn't take it as such that you enjoy this kind of thing. And I know you don't. We are mature and adult enough I think to know that. We are just expressing our thoughts. I don't think anyone here take pleasure in someone else's suffering.

It just that sometimes when we express certain ideas, words are not adequate to convey our meanings.

For example, you see me here sometimes express my anger at OZ's foreign policy towards China by kowtowing to US. But this doesn't mean I feel any animosity towards OZ citizens. In fact, I always like OZ, particular under Rudd when he had a great relationship with China. It just the current mob who is xenophobic and bend over backwards to please their master I have issue with.

Anyway, I'm not sure if you're Chinese living in OZ. If you are please take extra care in the times of covid. I've noticed a lot of white folks in the UK (And I'm sure in OZ too) feels it's ok to abuse Asians over this.

Yeah, the current government in OZ can just go straight to hell as far as I am concerned

Millions of americans are going to be evicted; we might even be seeing the post cold war russia version of the US being played out in the years to come.

Happily, american prostitutes might come with a bit more variety and choice in the years to come as well, much like russian women turned to prostitution throughout the 90s to survive.

I do not understand this economic stuff
US debt is 122% off GDP and there is a expression of concern and yet according to SCMP Chinas debt as% of GDP is 317%. Shouldn't we be worried by Chinas debt to GDP ratio?

Americans mainly used borrowed money to service past debts and buy New shiny weapons and to maintain superpower status.
Chinese mostly spent them on factories, supporting state owned enterprises (even unprofitable ones) and infrastructures, to main growth and jobs.
Assuming they have equal amount of debts, they are in completely different circumstances. One is sustainable and the other is very questionable.

Even Australia have homeless people living in city pavements and parks at the best of time. Ironically during this pandemic, homeless people are no way to be seen because the authority rounded them up and put them in temporary shelters provided with basic needs. This is because of the lockdown to prevent the spread of the virus.
Hope the authority continue to help them after the pandemic is over.

Hmmm the US still has some GDP growth of 2.5 to3% though while China is expected to remain in the upper 5 to lower6% for the next decade or so and then slowly decreasing to the 4's. Therefore Im guessing it would still be prudent to dial back the percentage of debt to GDP at some stage.
