Why even make LCD's in America? I'm assuming LCD manufacturing is very automated and thus capital-intensive; 5G can help make this automation process cheaper, but guess where all of the world's best, most comprehensive 5G infrastructure is being built? China.

Thinking about China is just complicating the matter.

If it is highly automated, it makes it even more difficult to meet the jobs target. If it is not highly automated, then you can assume the products are not state of the art.

Another follow up that brings up some of the points I mentioned.

Whatever is it, how come they think a high tech product manufacturing factory gonna employ 13k workers?
FYI giga Nevada employs around 7k.
That's why I think number of jobs as a metric for manufacturing investment is not relevant anymore. They should think about value and supply chain impact instead.

Although since lots of incentives and initiatives lay on State government instead of Federal government it might be difficult to think beyond state line.

That doesn’t make sense. How can they have such growth when there are so many unemployed and many business going bankrupt and that there is a second shutdown looming

The gov printed trillions of dollars... people are going wild flipping/speculating etc
