I am a cantonese, I watch HK TVBS news everyday, today the HK TV news and many HK newspapers reported the parade and commend that DF-21C (DF-25) CEP about 30m-50m, the U.S CV or CVN much larger than 30m-50m, so DF-21C is able to hit the U.S carrier.
HK media call DF-21C " aircaft carrier killer " now.

The media will always have bombastic claims like those. Without going into whether DF21 variants have CEP of 10, 30 or 50 m one has to say that hitting a moving target, be it 70*300 meters, is a quite a different matter from hitting a, say, house from 2000 km away.

Errrrr........Carriers 'Move'. 30m - 50m CEP is good for hitting stationary targets. Pershing II had a CEP around 30m - 50m. So thats pretty good. But hitting something moving at 30+ knots?

no, carrier dosn't always move, look at Gulf war, when the U.S CBG arrived Gulf area, they stayed there and began to attack Iraq.
I just wonder where this source come from, from PLA' people disclosed or western media.

Do you really think the PLA will show the world its most modern weaponary ?

China uses these parade as a visual deterrence and public pride. Their true state of the art weapons are not revealed, they revealed enough as a visual deterrence like the DF-21 carrier killer. China has practiced The Art of War for over 2500 years !

Russia might still be better at aircraft engines, but the PLA and local aircraft manufacturers are catching up and their electronics such as radar and fire control systems are already better. The new generation of scientist and engineers working in PLA academies are now educated in western and European universities and will soon come up with systems that is unique to the PLA and the rest of the world will want to copy, China already has it own MIC like the US !

Even so, you can't really predict where it'll be at any given time, 30-50 CEP is decent, but all it takes is an extra 30 seconds one way or another and you'll have a clean miss.

Without terminal course correction, it's pretty much useless as an anti-ship weapon.

But it is an interesting tactical weapon against permanent or semi-permenanent land targets, though... I wonder if people have thought about the DF-21C in that light.
